This is a short list of long fics. In no particular order. All of them are must-read fics and all of them are fics that I've read multiple times.

Chapter stories first.


The Convergence Series by shaenie. The chapters/parts are all near the bottom of the page with great banners. It starts as Dom/Billy, but the later parts have Dom/Billy/Elijah. This fic contains serious BDSM (more specifically D/s), but even if you don't like that kind of thing, read it! The depth in the characters is amazing. This is one of the first Lotrips fanfiction stories I've ever read, and it's been hard to beat.

The Archer (and it's sequels) by legomyarrow. (AU fic) This is a link to the first chapter, but each chapter has links to both the previous and next parts. It has three mini-sequels, but the major sequel, The Flag, is still a WIP. There's no Monaboyd in this, but even so. I love Dom's character. Even though it's a mystery story, it's a good reread because Amanda hides the smallest clues in each part but without knowing the answer, it's pretty much impossible to figure out. Also, it has it's own fansite here!

101 Things To Do In Zero Gravity by acroamatica. (AU fic) This is a link to the last chapter, which has links to all the previous chapters. It's kind of based on Sniper 740, but you don't have to have seen that to understand. I haven't seen it and I love this story. This fic, like the two I just mentioned, will keep you reading. I found it hard to stop reading.

If I Die by dani_grl4. Link to the last chapter, which has links to almost all of the previous chapters. One of them, chapter 17 (I think), has a dead link, but I don't think you miss anything vital by not reading that chapter. This is a very angsty story about kidnapping and suicide attempts.

Mistake Number Three by dylan_dufresne. (AU fic) Link to the first chapter, with links to the next chapters at the bottom. I think this is the first AU (or the first good one) that I read, and now I love AU. This is angsty and graphic and yes, a bit predictable, but that doesn't mean it's not good. Just read it.

You're A Map Of A Place Maybe Someday I'll Go by pippinmctaggart. Where does she get these titles? This is one of the newest fics on the list. When you're finished reading this story, read everything else by pippinmctaggart. I'm absolutely serious. The dialogue in all her fics rings true to Dom and Billy in real life and the descriptions are simply breathtaking.

Beyond the Sea by suede_scripture. (AU fic) Just finished this past week! Link to the index. In this, Dom is a depressed workaholic and Billy gets him to lighten up. Set on a cruise ship. Beautiful.

A Squee By Any Other Name by puddle_took. Link to the next chapter at the bottom. Just what it sounds like. A very squee-worthy fic about Dom falling for Billy.

The Amateur Naturalist by mirabile_dictu. (Future fic) It's posted in five parts with links to each part at the bottom. Dom/Everyone, but not really in a slutty way. The official pairing is Dom/Billy and kinda Elijah, though. This is amazing and heartbreaking. It made me cry, which I don't usually do for fics.

Fun & Games: The Downward Spiral by Brenda. Link to the index. Dom/Karl Urban and Dom/Orlando. This fic had me gasping and breathless. And it's changed the way I look at Karl. Very dark fic. Very very dark. Beware.

At Your Most Beautiful/Entire Worlds/The World Where We Live/Lost/Apart/Found/Journey's End/Home/In Good Compay (I know that's a lot) by semaphore27. Queen of angst. When I said there are very few fics that actually make me cry, I mean very few. But they include all of Sema's fics. Epic, sad, beautiful, sad, compelling, descriptive, and sad again. I think the alternate ending to Lost is my favorite because I'm literally bawling by the end. But if that's not your thing, keep reading, because there are happy parts too.

Now, some non-chapter stories. And I thought this was going to be a short list!


Bullet in the Gun by peeshwank. I love Dom's inner monologue in this. If this had chapters, it would be the kind of story that keeps you reading until you finish. As it is, I find myself holding my breath while reading it for the eighth time. That's how good it is.

Edge by scattergold. Above, we have Dom's inner voice. This is Billy's. It's a hilarious stream of conscious that you have to read. Really.

Polaroid Pictures by booshgal33. This fic has pictures to do with it! Very cute story, and did I mention the pictures?

Right Now But Not Right Here by pippinmctaggart. You can tell it's a Pip fic by the title. In this, Dom's a bit of a germaphobe. This fic offers a look at the disgusting places people go to shag.

Explication by lux__aeterna. This is part of shaenie's Convergence-verse, but it can be read alone. Technically, it's Dom/Billy, but it's more like Dom/leather wristcuff. Short, but sweet.

Fair Game by glasgow_blue. This is the fic everyone recs as the perfect gen fic. It's gen, so there's no real pairing, but it's Monaboyd if you squint. It just makes me smile.

Quibbles, Or How The Great Music War Of 1999 Was Resolved by strongplacebo. Another gen fic, but it captures the hobbits perfectly. Just read it.

What If by kaydeefalls. This is also gen. Kind of heartbreaking, though. "One movie and the nine actors who were almost-but-not-quite cast in it," says the summary. Technically an AU, but they're all still actors, so.

Narcissus by lux__aeterna. Billy/Dom, Dom/Elijah, Elijah/.....? You'll see. This story is really wierd and kind of Elijah-centric, but wow.

Satyriasis by philomel. Dom/Rufus Wainwright. Simply beautiful.

Now for the Tigs and RPGs. All AUs.


LotR University. The ultimate Tig/RPG in my book. Not quite finished, but it can be read as complete. I cannot say how much I love this fic.

Painted Whiskey. This is only about halfway through posting, but the1elf and ditchwitchbitch keep to a good schedule with updates. If you haven't read this yet, get started! Oh, a note: graphic rape scene. *sheepish* Still good, trust me.

Phone Tig. Crack!fic. Dom and Billy are phonesex hotline operators. Yes. About the links: Chapter 1 has links to the next chapters up to 6, then go back to the memories for chapter 7.

To Catch A Thief. Starts at the bottom. Dom is an art thief and Billy's a private eye. Perfect match, huh? This is another one of those stories that makes me smile.

I fully expected this list to be about five fics long. It could be longer than this. But just go read these, yeah?
