I'm going to keep this one short.
Starring Charlize Theron and Sean Bean!
Starring Charlize Theron and Sean Bean!
Beware spoilers.
Good movie. I didn't like the haircuts, but hey, those are the times, right? That one girl kept looking like Liv Tyler when she smiled, but when she wasn't smiling, she didn't look alike at all. So, there's one connection to LotR, and the other's a bit more concrete. Sean Bean. But with no accent.
The first time I saw him, I thought "Hey, that looks like Sean Bean." But then he said something and I thought "No, can't be him. Sounds kinda like him, though." Then, later, it shows him in the light, head on. "That's Sean Bean!" It was really freaky listening to him with no accent. I mean, that's just wrong. Every now and then, I thought I heard a word that was almost normal (for him, not me). I just couldn't get over the fact that he had No. Accent.
But yes, I liked the movie. Not one of my favorites, for sure, but it was good and I did enjoy it. The DVD skipped a bit though, and at the most inopportune moments. (Did'ja catch the PotC reference?) Once, it was during the pivotal speech at the union meeting. Missed quite a bit of what Charlize was saying. I did get to see that fat guy grab his crotch for about five minutes while it was stuck, though..... Not a pretty sight.
'S all for now, folks. I just realized how much I hate that word, "folks". Just sounds... strange. Anyway, s'long.
