OMG IT'S ALL OVER. ;__________________________________;

let me start off by explaining my POV. i've read the books, a LOT, and i was definitely one of THOSE PEOPLE who watched the movies and pointed out ALL THE THINGS they changed from the books. BUT. i haven't read this book in... quite a while. i remembered the major points, like the horcruxes and the people who died and how it gets resolved, but the specifics were all kinda fuzzy to me. once i realized the movie was actually COMING OUT SOON OMG (these things tend to sneak up to me) i did flip through the last book just to get the gist (and when i say flip through i mean i literally read a few sentences out of every chunk of pages i grabbed). but at that point i realized it's probably BETTER for me to not really remember the specifics, so i didn't look into it too deeply on purpose. therefore: i watched this new movie as a MOVIE based on a book, and as a MOVIE, i really enjoyed it. NOW, of course, i want to reread the whole last book (the whole series, but srsly, DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR THAT) and catch all the things i forgot about and pick the movie apart later, but for now, i'm very pleased.

it hasn't quite hit me yet that it's all over. this is the last one. i mean, i cried a bit watching the livestream of the london premiere, when everyone was making their little speeches about this being the end (and not the end, and so on and so forth), but now... IDK, I FEEL ADRIFT. oh man, it's really over. how did that HAPPEN. it's been a long, amazing journey. i grew up with these characters. it'll probably hit me for real soon, i can kind of sense it coming. oh man. it's been fun.

AMAZING.

BRILLIANT.

NOT-REALLY SPOILERS:

MOSTLY JUST CAPSLOCKE )

SORRY, IT'S 3:15 IN THE MORNING AND AS MIKEYWAY WOULD PUT IT: MY MIND WAS BLOWN.

I've given in and started reading [livejournal.com profile] shoebox_project. And I was all sad because some of the pictures have disappeared. Until I found the whole thing in pdf format (oh thank god). Which means, I can upload them to the Kindle. Which I am doing now. I'm at chapter 9, and I ALREADY LOVE THIS STORY SO MUCH.

Also, I need to take my lit midterm before midnight tonight. MUST STUDY OMG. And also write fic for tomorrow. The one I'm working on now just reached 13,000 words last night. \o/

Also also, I've recently downloaded some music which I love (and which are all connected to The Riches. 1) How We Operate - Gomez (it's used for the intro bit), 2) Please Read the Letter - Robert Plant & Alison Krauss (it was in the season finale, which was AWESOME, btw), and 3) Stars & Satellites - Minnie Driver (the song's not in the show, but she is, lol). All very good, and all stuck in my head now. *dances*

a friend lists 7 of your interests that they are interesting in hearing you talk about. comment here if you want me to list 7 interests for you to discuss!

this list is from [livejournal.com profile] surreality_fan

lots of rambling under here )

***

I watched Pushing Daisies tonight, except I missed the first few minutes. It's beautifully shot, and I love the colors. It looks like a movie. And actually, I think it would probably work better as a movie than a show because I don't know how they're going to continue it and keep it fresh. Also, my sis and I recognized Jim Dale narrating right away because of all the Harry Potter audiobooks. :D That came as a surprise. Oh, and is this a half-hour show filling an hour timeslot? Because that was a hell of a lot of commercials. O.o

And I watched the newest House episode. spoilers )

To the classical music lovers - does anyone have Valse in A by Frederic Chopin and would be willing to upload? I've googled it but only found things I have to pay for, and I don't like paying for things. lol I'm about to start playing this song in piano.

And finally, I reviewed some SAT stuff today. I'm gonna fail. >.< ONLY TWO MORE DAYS. *headdesk*

i'm so sad it's all over.... :(

miss you all a LOT. i'm so behind on LJ. if there's anything i really should know RIGHT NOW, comment here so i don't miss it please. *hugs*

was going to do a voice post about this, but my phone's having problems. so i'm logging on long enough to say that I HAVE HP7 IN MY HANDS and i'm NOT ALLOWED TO READ IT YET. omg. >.< tonight, i will read it. but i don't think i wanna just power through it all in one go; i wanna savour it. it's the LAST BLOODY BOOK. omg i think i'll probably get a bit emotional about this.

love you all. talk to you soon.

Now that I’ve seen OotP a second time, hopefully I managed to be a bit more coherent in my review. I was so coherent, in fact, that this review takes up 6 full pages in MS Word. O.o I tried to go mostly in chronological order. HUGE, MAJOR, DETAILED SPOILERS AHEAD.

So yeah, that’s the movie. Before it started, a couple of the theater people came in and said “We’ve got some time to kill, so, how about a trivia game! Poster prizes for people who answer questions right!” I immediately sat forward and was all attentive. :D The first few questions were EASY, and I raised my hand, but I didn’t do it FIRST, so he didn’t call on me. One question went to a girl on the front row – Can you name all of the Weasleys? I watched the girl counting on her fingers and obviously struggling with it, and then the guy said “Ok, she got 6 out of 9, can anybody beat that?” and I was like Hermione in the first movie in Potions class. He pointed to me and I was like “…me? …ME?” and then I said, calmly and very easily, “Arthur, Molly, Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny,” while thinking the entire time, “OMG IS THERE ONE BETWEEN PERCY AND F&G THAT I’M FORGETTING? OMG I KNOW I’M FORGETTING ONE!” I kind of recited the names without any involvement from my brain, because it was kind of frozen and crashing like a computer. And then everyone around me (and pretty much the whole audience) was like “…wow.” LOL!!! So I got a poster! And then my hands were shaking and my stomach was in knots and butterflies because I hate being put on the spot. LOL
silentdescant: (oh crap)

bah! stupid internet. the network's broken, so my ~5 computer/4 person family is down to one single computer, and we're all kinda annoyed. Jill, i was going to reupload those zip files to sendspace for you, but now i can't get a connection between my computer and the internet at all, so i'm afraid they'll have to wait until after my trip, if you still want me to upload them for you. sorrrrry!!! :( i also meant to reply to comments from a bunch of people, but, while it's not impossible to do on this computer, it's difficult, so that'll also have to wait. grr.

also, it took me for-fucking-ever to make dvds for the theatre people. none of the stupid computers would burn a single working disc for the longest time. while i don't mind filming for these people and i certainly don't mind the money they pay me for doing it, i'm glad i won't have to KEEP doing it once i'm off to college.

i am ALMOST all packed up for the trip; i think i have all the clothes i'm going to take, so now i just need to get together my accessories/books/music/shit like that. and i have to leave enough room to bring back the new harry potter book, because it's getting shipped to one of the places we're staying, lol. i had a minor panic attack today because my mom bought the book with a credit card that was in her stolen purse and therefore cancelled, but she called...somebody and worked it out with the new credit card so they'll still send the book. *sigh* i'm reading/listening to HBP now, but i can't bring the book, so i'll have to transfer all the cds to my ipod. that'll take forever, i'm sure. >.< it's coming down to the wire with packing, but i feel like i'm pretty ahead of the game this time. well, until the last minute, i'm sure, when i'll find a whole suitcase worth of stuff i wanted to bring. LOL

oh and i watched velvet goldmine for the first time. ewan mcgregor/jonathan rhys meyers kissing and... doing other stuff = HOT omg. i still don't quite see the appeal of the whole glam-rock style, but those two were fucking hot.

also, brainspouse, since this computer doesn't have yim or googletalk (grr!), i hope you feel better!!! *LOTSA HUGS* less-than-three omg.

silentdescant: (so exciting omg)
OMFG BEST MOVIE YET.

better, more coherent review to come. and until then, see [profile] ack_attack's majorly spoilery post, because i agree with her on ALMOST everything she mentioned.
silentdescant: (so exciting omg)
my computer's internet has been DISABLED, so the only way i can get online is on one of the laptops, which i can't use very often. *HEADDESK* so, SORRY i haven't been commenting or updating or anything else. >.< this sucks.

but anyway. HARRY POTTER OMG. got tickets to a midnight show on tuesday, and i watched SS on abc yesterday, and am watching CoS now. PoA is on tomorrow, and then luckily i have GoF for monday night, and theeeennnn ORDER OF THE PHOENIX YAAAAAY. i've also started listening to the OotP audiobook, but i should just skip around in the cds because i don't have time to listen to the whole thing. lol

also, my AP biology scores came back last week. the scores are out of 5, and a 3 is a passing score, and will usually get counted for credit so i can exempt out of biology classes at college. d'you guys remember how much goofing off i did during biology? and how much i hated it? i would'a been ecstatic with a 3. and i got a 4. A FUCKING FOUR. I got a four. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? I GOT A FOUR. *\o/*

i also now have 2 new pairs of shoes, and they are the cutest shoes EVER. :P i need to start PACKING omg. i leave for philadelphia in just over a week. i somehow have to fit everything i'm going to bring into one (small) suitcase and one carry-on. oh, and speaking of this trip, i finished the painting of my grandparents!! yay. i'm pretty happy with it, even though grandma doesn't quite look right. lol

oh, and! besides SCAD, there's now another school that i'm looking at, though i haven't really done a lot of research about it yet. it's in boston, which is cool, because i love boston and the north-east. anyway, it's called Emerson i think, or Emery or something. LOL! i haven't really looked at it yet! :P
silentdescant: (so exciting omg)

omg. i dunno why the excitement's just hitting me NOW, but omgomgomgomgomg. i'm going to go see the movie at IMAX, but i dunno when, and the book is getting delivered to my grandparents' house, where i'll be at the time. i wanted to go to a midnight party at B&N, but obviously that wouldn't work out. omgggg. the last book. O____O omg. this'll be the only time i haven't reread all the other books beforehand. :(

eta: grr, stupid table code. i give up trying to fix it.
silentdescant: (omgwtf)
I'm barely even involved in this fandom crisis, yet somehow I've become the source of information for a few people. *facepalm* [livejournal.com profile] giddy_london explained to me what was going on, and I (of course) immediately had to find out everything I could. Therefore, I'm compiling a list of the journals and posts that I got my information from. Hopefully this purge won't affect LotR or LotRPS too much, although Wood'cest might possibly have a few issues. The only way this even relates to me is through HP (via Weasley twincest) and Lost (via Pace'cest).

First of all, a to do list for you: delete trigger-words such as "incest" and "pedophilia" (yeah, like you guys have that listed. /sarcasm) from your interest list. Also, delete explicit icons involving minors, or just explicit icons if your especially cautious. Then, if you have any fics or images involving incest, friends-locking seems to be the general consensus for safety precautions.

Now that that's out of the way, on to the real information. (note: I'm adding ?style=mine to all of these because honestly, some layouts just make my eyes bug out, especially this late at night. Also, even though I'm embedding the links in the text, there's a list at the bottom for copy/paste-ing ease.)

beneath a cut because this is pretty damn long )

More personal stuff: I've f-locked my (two) Weasley twincest fics, cleaned up my interest list a bit, and double-checked my profile for anything "illegal". Otherwise, my journal is staying public, at least for the time being. The only comm I'm a member of that would be directly involved in this purge is [livejournal.com profile] twin_trouble, which, despite having "incest" absolutely everywhere in the userinfo (eta: the mod has fixed up the userinfo and interests), is still up and running. O.o

Also, in the midst of all this, I somehow managed to get 29 out of 30 on my psychology quiz. Go me! lol

ETA: To make everybody feel better, [livejournal.com profile] bloodrayveness has posted a spam of cat macros. (for more, click the 'catspam' tag) *giggles*

ETA4: If your journal is fandom-related, join [livejournal.com profile] fandom_counts. There aren't any posts there, it's just a comm to count how many journals are fandom-related. Also, if you have a paid account, there is [livejournal.com profile] fandompays.

I have a LotR book 6 test to take today and I'm only in chapter 1. >.< But anyway, it got me thinking about invisibility. This is such a random question omg. But pls to be humouring me?

Harry's Invisibility Cloak - This makes a ton of sense to me. It's a cloak that makes everything under it, no matter what it is, invisible. So, if you're too tall, your feet will show. If you pick up something and put it underneath, it too will be invisible. However, what about when it's just lying around? I don't get that. Shouldn't it be invisible all the time? Like, when Harry folds it up and puts it away and stuff?

The One Ring - This does not make sense to me at all. It makes the wearer invisible, right? But it also makes their clothes invisible, and stuff their holding (Frodo's sword, Sam's pack, etc.). But... it doesn't just make everything the invisible person touches invisible, does it? I mean, if Frodo picked up a rock while he was invisible, would it disappear too? And to further this, if the Ring turns everything the wearer touches invisible, why don't the floor of buildings and the rocks he climbs over disappear?

Personal Powers - This makes more sense, I think. Because usually it's just the person going invisible, not their clothes or things they touch. But this does have the problem of stripping down every time the person goes invisible. And I haven't seen Fantastic Four, but didn't the girl like, get a suit that went invisible too? or something? I wanna see that movie. and the sequel that's coming out soon. lol

So I guess my question is this: where does invisibility end? Is it just an arbitrary line drawn in the sand? "Everything up to this point can disappear, but nothing else"?

Therefore, a poll.

[Poll #986653]

DISCUSS.

ps: FotR tomorrow omgyay!! I don't know why I'm so excited, because I literally just watched it on TV, but YAY ANYWAY.

pps: I still have Charlie's Death Anthem (aka Run) on repeat. *sniff*

ppps: Apparently I am becoming obsessed with italics. *giggles*
