so I had that FIRST mock tournament/filming thing! besides staying up until 2am and then waking up at 6:30, it was great! it didn't quite go how I expected it to, but I think we got some good footage that we can work with, and I was pretty impressed overall that we managed to MAKE a tournament with only about 100-150 people, since usually there are like, a LOT. there was this one dude that was seriously cute, one of the filming guys who volunteered, and he had an awesome hat and knew his shit about film, and we were flirting pretty hardcore all day, and I finally had to ask how old he was, just to make sure I wasn't hitting on a 17 year old or something. not that anything's gonna happen since uh, I'll probably never see him again but whatevs, flirting is fun.

and yesterday I went with my family to my dad's company picnic, and wow, they really went all out this year (more than the past few years, anyway). there were motorcycle people (crazy jumping CRAZY people) and the seattle knights group, who did jousting and swordfighting and that was really cool even though it looked very rehearsed. lol. I got sunburned, which was not cool. this is why I wear long sleeves all the time. :(

today we're taking my sister to college, which is on the other side of the mountains, so it's like 5 hours there and 5 hours back. so we're staying with her tonight and proooobably tomorrow night too. I'm kinda blah about it because I probably won't get any time online. :( :( :( but I will have my phone.

and I know a couple people have found it already, but I put my name in this meme! I haven't commented to anybody yet; I was planning on doing that this morning but I guess that'll have to wait. so... yeah. sorry. I have things to say to you! just not yet.

idk, this is a really random post. i cut out paper stuff and helped teresa build obstacles for a pre-FLL lego type game. it was interesting because apparently the makers don't believe in good instructions, and they don't know how to make sturdy paper structures. we took a bit of creative license and made everything better. then we made oragami whales and stars and a box to put the stars it, it's pretty cute.

there's an AC guy here fixing things, and I HOPE I HOPE I HOPE he is just about done. it's actually not too bad today, but it is a little sticky with all the humidity. hopefully we'll be sleeping better tonight.

this is like the most wired family ever, they have about a million computers. and one just stays up hooked into the audio system with pandora or itunes running. it's neat.

pps: finished reading Nightswimming this morning and already I want to read Unholyverse again (which I read JUST before Nightswimming). It probably comes up the most often in my list of favorite fics to reread.

Hot from the sweaty skin pressing against his body from all sides, Frank pushes his way to the back of the club, panting with exertion. He can't hear anything over the thudding bass and the screeching guitars, not even the singer's voice. The music's not even good, but it's loud enough and chaotic enough to lose himself in. He wants a drink and a smoke, and a bed, but Mikey's probably not ready to leave yet, and Frank doesn't have his own car. He mops the sweat off his face with the already soaked hem of his t-shirt and scans the crowd for Mikey's stupid beanie. Frank bounces up on his toes a few times in order to see over the mass of people. He finally finds Mikey at the opposite side of the club, sitting at the bar with a few guys Frank doesn't recognize. By the look of the conversation, Mikey isn't nearly drunk enough to want to leave yet. Frank looks through the crowd again, wondering if he could share a ride or even a bed with anybody he recognizes.

1. i stayed up until 4am. WHY? whyyyy? i was writing shit, and it really is shit, it's completely self-indulgent crap that i don't even want to show anyone, and like, it was 2 and then i looked up and it was 3 and then i looked up again and it was 4 and i was like FUCK THIS, I NEED SLEEP. and therefore slept until 10:30 with an eyemask on because it was already getting lighter and fucking birds were ALREADY CHIRPING at 4am and so when i took it off, i was nearly BLINDED because even though it's overcast today, it's still BRIGHT AS FUCK. happily, i had a snuggly fluffy sleepy lump next to me. (side note: mcr, pls post pictures of various dogs in various guitar cases FOREVER.)

2. i just kept pressing snooze and only really woke up because i got a phone call. from my friend, who is in the recital, and who will be the only good thing about probably humiliating myself today. i've only been practicing this song for like, a week and a half, and i have it memorized again, but it's not... great. and i'm going to be wearing bright hot pink shirts and gigantic fuck-off heels that hurt my feet, and tights that undoubtedly make my thighs look huge, and a miniskirt. IS THAT 80s ENOUGH FOR YA? i've resigned myself to looking like an idiot, but i am going to OWN IT, BABY, and be comforted by the fact that the other costumes will be much more ridiculous than mine.

3. apparently some mcr fan has been spamming the entire band with a link to her fanfic, and she finally got one of them to respond. ray. i saw that and nearly died of motts, not even joking. and then i clicked it, saw gerard's name at the top, and was absolutely horrified. RAY, I'M SO SORRY. he actually read it, i think. I COULDN'T EVEN READ IT. i was too overcome by the motts. i just made disgusted noises and flapped my hands at my computer and tried to erase it from my brain. perhaps ray did the same.

4a. my dad and i watched the top gear goes to america episode, and i love watching top gear with him 'cause it actually makes him laugh for real, and it's so hilarious. i love top gear.

4b. since tomorrow's father's day and i don't have any kind of present at all, and my mom and sister are going to be gone all day, maybe i could take my dad out to see the hangover? it's the only movie i can think of that would be good. he's already seen star trek, we went to angels & demons a week or so ago, and UP is more of a whole-family type movie. and transformers = hell no. but i've heard good things about hangover. whaddya think?

4c. tomorrow is also my BBB POSTING DAAAAAAAY. so exciteddddddddd. omg, i'm so freaking excited, you don't even know. well, giddy_london probably knows. i am so happy with the fic, and the ART, and the MIX (which i have been listening to like, NONSTOP) and ahhhhh i am so ready to post this shit.
