IN OTHER NEWS: I am almost almost almost done with this quarter. Spring break starts Tuesday night for me, with a flight home. \o/ I'm excited. I just gotta get through a final exam today, then that's basically it! Besides just going to the last couple classes. Also, a play I wrote is going to be performed on my school's radio station on Sunday night. I'll have more details about that soon, if you'd like to tune in. :)

Everyone's been making rec lists for MCR fandom, like, all the must-read stories for newbies. Pretty much everything I would rec has already been recced, SO I decided to do something a little different. I have been told that I write D/s fic pretty well (♥!), but there's some excellent stuff out there that I love to read and reread and reread, fics that inspire me and that I've learned from, so, here's a list of those. It says "multifandom" in the subject line, but it's really only the fandoms and pairings I like, so don't go expecting something varied and diverse. Also, everything here is NC-17 unless otherwise noted.

( Lord of the Rings RPS )

LotR RPS is a fandom FULL of excellent BDSM fics, and I'm glad I started out in that fandom. There are far too many to name here (I've gone way past the number I expected to limit myself to anyway), so check out my delicious for more.

There's something about most of these bandom fics that I can't put my finger on, but they feel different than the lotrips BDSM fics. I don't know why; there's excellent fic in both fandoms. I have less meta about this fandom, apparently. Except that's not exactly true, because I have a ton of meta in my head about the people themselves. I don't know why it feels so different, but it's weirding me out. Anyway, moving on.

There doesn't seem to be quiiiite as much BDSM in this fandom as there was in lotrips, but there's still quite a lot that I have saved to my delicious that I haven't recced here. Check it out. I've been a little lenient with my bdsm tag, though; most of these just have some element (sometimes a pretty vague element) of D/s.

glam_kink meme. I like how kinky this fandom seems to be, and how, even if Adam isn't all that kinky in real life, he makes it easy to push him to that extreme in fiction.

That pretty much concludes this rec list. Hopefully I rambled enough-but-not-too-much for you. :) This was really a lot of fun, because I had an excuse to reread some really good fic. Especially in lotrips; I haven't read much in that fandom in a long time, so it was good to revisit. Oh, and if you have any other must-read BDSM fics, please link me to them! I'm always up for more good kinkfic.

ETA (April 2011): This list, especially in Adam fandom, is not up to date at all. A lot of really excellent BDSM fics have been posted since I wrote this post, and I've saved some of them to my delicious and some of them to my AO3 bookmarks if you'd like to go looking for them. I'll probably do an updated D/s reclist at some point, and I'll link to it here when I do.

I drove my sis (and mom) down to Albany, OR yesterday, and I got to sleep with the cutest little yorkie ever last night, and my mom and I stopped at Powell's on the way back home today, which was great. Also in Portland: people were filming the tv show Leverage. O.O!! We hung out at a bakery and tried to stake it out but we couldn't see much. The PA we talked to was super cute, though. Also I might get the PA gig on the music video Kat's working on, which would be GREAT because they would pay me. It interferes with the tentative dates Kevin's setting, but if I get the job maybe that can change a little. Also, I have an interview with Shilo tomorrow. :| If all of this works out, I will be suuuuper busy this summer.

I am tired and I've got a snuggly dog to sleep with tonight, and I'm going to stop looking up things about extreme body mod. O____o

in other news, I had a great girl-talk with my aunt last night, which was awesome. she's super religious but she knows I'm not so she tries not to push anything on me, which is great. we went out to the mall today and there were SO MANY PRETTY DRESSES. I think I will need to go shopping once I get back to Seattle. (two days!)

I'm behind on Glee and Doctor Who, but I just downloaded both to watch tonight/tomorrow. yay! (yay computer + internet, yaaaaay, I can't live without you, Jeeves, never leave me.)

First of all, ART AGAIN. I kinda finished that Gerard/Mikey VMan sketch. Tried to fix Gerard a little, though probably not enough. And what is up with Gerard's GIGANTIC HAIR in that picture? Mikey's not nearly as easy for me to draw as Gerard is, for some reason, so he's kind of crap. At least this time I had an eraser and a pencil sharpener. Again, click for bigger.

Anyway, today was pretty boring. I made the trek out to CVS for blank DVDs, and then I just came back and played a million rounds of sudoku while halfheartedly cleaning my desk and listening to The Attack of the Unsinkable Rubber Ducks by Christopher Brookmyre, narrated by Billy Boyd. I highly recommend this book (this audiobook especially, because BILLY! He does really great voices!). I think it's awesome. It's about a psychic and trying to figure out if and how he's tricking people, and it kind of delves into science vs religion as well, which I enjoy but may not be to your taste if you're really religious. But I can't really do much while I'm listening to audiobooks, I pretty much have to sit there and listen otherwise I can't pay attention. Hence the sudoku and finishing that drawing. I have about an hour of the book left to listen to.

After everybody gets back from improv (at 11, I think), we're going to film really quick (REALLY QUICK, OMG I FUCKING HOPE) and then I have to dash across town to the library and edit and burn a DVD (probably until the library closes at 1am). And I have to figure out how to return equipment at 7pm tomorrow when I have class from 5-7:30. They might possibly take it at 4:30 after my previous class, but idk. And if not, I have to leave class early. UGH I HATE THE CAGE.

school-wise - ONE FINAL DOWN, ONE TO GO. I studied for a lot of the weekend, and I took six fucking pages (graph paper pages, not normal pages) of notes, TWO of which were just vocabulary. but the final went well, I think, and there were sections of it that I was 100% confidant about, so that was very nice indeed. unfortunately, during that time, I didn't even touch physics, so now I have all of a day to go over that.

OH. we have a bunny. my sister's fostering her for the humane society, and her original name was SMIPPLES (yes, you read that right). the first thing the people said? CHANGE HER NAME, PLEASE, OMG. 'cause no one could read it right, or figure out how to pronounce it. we're now calling her Lyla, and she's adorable and soft and weighs more than one of the dogs (Peanut). LOL Peanut's a bit nervous about her, but okay with her; Dazzle's scared out of her mind (we think she's seen Monty Python/Holy Grail too many times, LOL), and Popcorn either HATES her or is just completely freaked out. Lyla nearly gave Dazzle a heart attack when she first got here: Dazzle came in and jumped on the bed and saw this movement out of the corner of her eye and she was like OMGWTFBUNNYRABBIT?!!!?!?!?!!!?! and she's been hiding under my desk a lot now. LOL *pets her*

I didn't bring my sketchbook, but today I tried to draw it in my notebook (so there's lines all through it, but oh well). It's not the greatest picture in the world, and it doesn't quite match up to the image in my head, but I'm pretty proud of it considering I didn't use any reference pics. \o/ I usually can't draw anything without at least something to copy from.

WOOOO!!! Tony fucking WON the FIRST regional competition in GA!!! His team's going to nationals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm now debating whether or not I should fly down there to cheer/see him. I'd totally do it, except for the fact that I haven't been involved in robotics at all this year, and I don't even know the challenge. Plus, would that be awkward, if it's just me?

My dad came home from his Scotland/Kentucky business trip. With souvenirs! \o/ I got a "Scottish Translation" shirt that says "Gonnie no dae that!" on the front, then "I would ask you to consider whether what you have just done (or are about to do) is the appropriate action to take in the current circumstances." HEEE! My sister got one that said "It wasnae me!" with some long, cute translation as well. *giggles*

And apparently he has to go back to Scotland next month. And the really big news is, if the dates don't interfere with my AP-test day, I MIGHT GET TO GO TOOOO!!!!!! Of course, this is just a minor possibility, and I don't even have my passport at the moment, so. BUT STILL!!!! The place he goes is just like, 45 min. outside of Glasgow, and he went sight-seeing there this past time! And it's SCOTLAND, so HELLO, I'M IN!!!

Apparently he also has pictures (we haven't looked yet) from a cave in Kentucky that I've actually been to before, but don't remember because I was like, 3. O.o Lived in Kentucky for a while, actually. I've lived in 5 different states so far, and then different houses/apartments within those 5 states. Which is... unusual? At least according to the people I hang out with, who've lived here their entire lives. LOL

in other news; test tomorrow which I haven't studied for, biology lunch wherein we bring foodstuffs that look like blood clots and the like (should be an interesting class tomorrow, to say the least), and woo, my piano book came in the mail today! got to figure out what exactly I'm going to play out of it, though.

OH, and something from LotR (the books, not the films): I came across a quote in book 5, chapter 2 -

"Good-bye!" said Merry. He could find no more to say. He felt very small, and he was puzzled and depressed by all these gloomy words. More than ever he missed the unquenchable cheerfulness of Pippin.

Does that not sound like how Dom has described Billy on multiple occasions? (paraphrasing) "He doesn't try to get happy, he just is happy." or something like that. And now I want to read some good Merry/Pippin fics... LOL

also also: wrote a bit of RunAway today, for the first time in forever. >.< I'm sorry I've been kinda distant lately. I haven't meant to be, it just happened that way. Actually... well, I'll save that for another post.

okay, where to start?

second, fic. I just posted some Monaboyd PWP, so that was nice. I really can't wait to see fics from the ORC girls though, because they were actually there. I've spent like, nearly the whole day bouncing around in my chair and capslock-chatting with

bloodrayveness, which was a ton of fun. and that's when I wrote the fic. lol

As to RunAway, I haven't worked on it in a few days, and the next chapter's about half-finished. But this week is finals week for me, and then spring break after that, so I can use that time to get all caught up. Hopefully I'll have this chapter finished (no real reason why I shouldn't) by Tuesday.

I feel kinda like I'm descending back into my lurker ways, because I haven't been posting or commenting, really, but I have been reading everything. actually, I just kinda suck at commenting all around. sorry. just haven't felt like talking to much of anyone lately.
