title: The Mission
rating: G - gen, or super-faint twincest if you squint and tilt your head to the left.
disclaimer: none of these characters are mine, I just play with them. O.o
summary: The twins give Ron a mission.
a/n: 330 words of random Weasley interaction in honor of Fred and George's April 1st birthday today.
“No bloody way mum would give you permission,” Ron said disbelievingly, shaking his head.
“Yes she would!” the twins replied at the same time. Ginny glanced up from her book, but didn’t say anything.
“Well if you two can go, then I can too!” Ron shouted, poking Fred (or was it George? even Ron couldn’t tell them apart sometimes) in the chest.
“You can’t come, Ronnikins,” Fred chuckled, pinching Ron’s cheek. “Only for us grown ups.”
“If you’re grown ups, then I’m a bloody spider.”
“He does have a point, Freddy,” George murmured in his twin’s ear. Fred nodded, thinking. At the same moment, they both grinned.
They didn’t even have to look at each other to know that the other was on the same page.
Ron took a nervous step back. Those grins never brought him anything but trouble.
“You can come, Ron, on one condition,” Fred proposed, his grin twisting into a smirk.
“George,” Ginny interrupted, setting her book on the table. “If you two do anything against the rules, I’m telling mum.”
“Bugger off, Gin,” Ron called over his shoulder, then turned back to the twins. “What’s the condition?”
“You have to go into Filch’s office—”
“—find the bag of transfiguring powder he confiscated from us—”
“—and put it in Snape’s cauldron in his classroom.”
“Without getting caught, of course,” George finished.
Ron groaned. “You bloody wankers.” He trudged to the foot of the boy’s dormitory staircase and called up, “Oi, Harry! I need to borrow your cloak!”
Seconds later, Harry joined the Weasleys in the common room, carrying his invisibility cloak in his book bag. Ron pulled him through the portrait hole, explaining Fred and George’s mission. As soon as the younger boys were out of the room, the twins started to laugh. Ginny looked at them suspiciously.
“They’re going to get caught,” Fred explained. George reached down and pulled a small bag out of Fred’s pocket.
“We’ve still got the powder.”
