gym and homework

silentdescantthings i still need to post about, before i forget them for good: robot weekend, first day of classes... shit, i'm forgetting something, aren't i? shit. i mentioned the leather-eating dog already, i think... gah, i dunno what else.
gym situation - went to do an orientation thing at the community center here (basically just a tour of the equipment). haven't bought a membership or signed up for classes there yet. had a long talk over dinner about convenience, having only 2 cars in the family and 3 drivers going different places each day. buses are apparently not convenient for going to that gym. SO, after dinner, my mom and sis went to look in 24-hour fitness center, which is really close to the house AND right at the bus stop. that's more convenient, and they talked about prices and stuff. BUT, that place doesn't have the 'boot camp' thing, and now we've met the two trainers for that and everything.
so basically, i think what's going to happen is we're going to get a family membership to 24-hour fitness, and use that place to do stuff, but take the class at the community center gym (which apparently you don't need a membership for). best of both worlds. sort of.
possibly related (but maybe not, i dunno): i have a mystery rash on my chin. it's freaking me out. O.o i didn't get punched in the face or anything, and my scratchy sweater has a v-neck, so it wasn't touching my chin, and i didn't wear a scarf today. and i don't think i've done anything weird with facial soap or anything... and it wasn't here this morning. wtf, stupid skin. >.<
also, OMG, i have a lot of reading to do. i've not taken any literature-heavy courses in a while. i don't have enough confidence in my speed-reading to try that with these books. crap. and yesterday i put together a homework schedule and oh my god. just putting the schedule together took over an hour! *headdesk* am currently exhausted, but i need to read something before tomorrow. *SIGH*

monaboyd_month starting up, but i haven't had enough time yet to do more than glance at what's been posted so far. :( i still need to figure out what i'm going to post, actually....
