To the writers on my flist:
I had a flash of inspiration a while back, but it promptly died out as soon as I'd written this little bit. So, I wanted to turn this into a bit of a game. If you're so inclined, write what comes next, or what came before, or expand on this, or use it as a prompt, or... whatever! It's a game with very few rules. :P I didn't have any plans at all for what direction this was going to go, so anything works for me. :D
Dom has incredible control over his voice, Billy realized suddenly. With the darkness blocking out everything but the sounds Dom made, Billy couldn't tell if Dom was telling the truth or lying. That thought, that he, Billy, couldn't decipher Dom's meaning, was faintly disturbing. It left a twinge of pain in the pit of his stomach like he'd eaten something that didn't agree with him. Dom spoke again.
For the second time, Billy couldn't quite tell what Dom was really saying. He'd known Dom was good at manipulating his voice, but this was just absurd. Billy couldn't figure out if it was a good thing or a bad thing that he relied so much on seeing how Dom acted. He suspected bad, because Billy didn't like being shut out of anything of Dom's, especially his thoughts. But that felt, to Billy, like an invasion of Dom's privacy.
Dom was waiting for an answer to a question Billy had forgotten and probably not understood the gravity of in the first place. He sighed.
Have at it. And remember, this is supposed to be fun.
