A/N: Inspired by [personal profile] dashery’s screencaps of Dom in glasses and [profile] the1elf’s request for a Dom/Elijah glasses-fic. Except I did Dom/Billy instead.
A/N 2: Betad by my good friend, [profile] bloodyrayveness. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Billy had only known Dom for a few weeks when they first had to share a room overnight. In that short time, he had learned a lot about his friend, both good and bad. For example, Billy knew that Dom liked to sleep in late, but sometimes got up at the crack of dawn to do yoga. He knew that Dom liked to write on his hands; sometimes lists and sometimes what he called Dom’s Word of the Day. Billy also knew that Dom had a short temper when he was stressed or tired, and that Dom didn’t like to be snuck up on in the dark. Billy reflected on all of these Dom-qualities, and figured he knew his cast-mate pretty well. Until this, that is.

Dom emerged from the bathroom wearing a pair of flannel pajama bottoms and not much else. Except for the pair of glasses settled on the bridge of his nose. Dom was acting no different than usual; he toweled off his still-damp hair, crawled onto his bed, and pulled out his journal and pen. Billy realized he was staring and tried to concentrate on his book. Several minutes and half a paragraph later, he couldn’t stand it any longer.

“You wear specs, Dom?”

“What?” Dom asked distractedly, looking up from his writing.

“I didn’t know you wore specs. I’ve never seen you wear them and you never mentioned…” Billy trailed off when he saw Dom’s ears flush red with embarrassment.

“They’re not mine,” he said quickly. “They’re Elijah’s. I was just… y’know. Borrowing. I just wanted to see. I mean, I wanted to see what he… sees.”

“Oh.” Billy paused for a moment before continuing. Dom took off the glasses and set them on his nightstand before turning back to his journal. Billy watched him squint at the pages and saw Dom’s hand overreach the pen by several inches. “Those don’t look like Elijah’s glasses,” Billy said simply.

“He’s got more than one pair, Bill,” Dom muttered, rubbing his eyes. He sighed and closed his journal, then tried to place it on the nightstand. He was off by a few inches, and the book flopped to the floor. “Bloody hell,” Dom winced and rested his forehead on his knees, wrapping his arms around his legs.

Billy put down his book, which he hadn’t read more than two sentences of since Dom came out of the bathroom anyway, and went to pick up Dom’s journal. He set them both on the nightstand and crawled onto Dom’s bed. “It’s all right to wear glasses, Dom. Why are you hiding it?” Billy asked softly.

“They don’t look like me,” Dom mumbled, his face still hidden by his knees. “They don’t make me look good.” Billy rubbed Dom’s cheek gently until Dom looked up at him.

“You look good all the time, Dom. Glasses or no,” Billy argued with a wide smile.

“Not only have I got this mismatched face, I have to have specs to go with it?” Dom asked rhetorically in a bitter, pained voice.

“Dom, listen to me. Listen. You look amazing, Dommeh,” Billy said softly, his tone slipping into seriousness. He reached over and picked up the glasses from the nightstand. “And you look amazing without them and with them,” Billy added sincerely, setting the specs carefully on Dom’s nose.

Dom smiled slowly, though his ears were faintly red again. “Thanks, Bill,” he whispered.

“You don’t need to take something away from yourself for me or anyone else, Dom. You’re already perfect to me. And anyway, the specs make you look cute.” Billy grinned and leaned away before Dom could swat him.

“Billy! Cute?”

“All right, not cute then. But you do look good, Dommeh, I mean that,” Billy continued, his smile softening.

“I’m not going to wear them out of the house, Bill. I don’t care what you say,” Dom replied gravely. “How do I know you’re not taking the piss?”

“I wouldn’t do that, Dom. Surely you know me better than that.”

“Yeah,” Dom nodded slowly, a sincere grin on his face, “I do.”
