The points of his teeth

            break my skin and summon blood.

The nails of his fingers

            leave angry lines on my back.

The stubble on his cheek

            chafes and irritates my neck.

The leather of the cuff

            pulls at my wrist and holds me back.

The heel of his hand

            pushes at my hipbone and bruises deeply.

The curl of his lips

            makes my stomach twist in fear.

The touch of his tongue

            sets my flushed skin on fire.

The sharp crack of his voice

            cuts through the white noise in my ears.

The hard edge of the leather

            sends stripes of pain across my spine.

 

The love in his eyes

            tells me I’m safe.
