title: The Penitence Ball
pairing: Frank/Gerard
rating: NC-17
words: 4600+
summary: Frank gets in a little trouble at school.
warning: spanking as a punishment, BDSM themes, religious (Catholic) themes, mentions of crossdressing. also, math.
a/n1: a major thank you to [livejournal.com profile] giddy_london; I sent this to her accompanied by lots of "OMG WHAT DID I JUST DO?" comments, and she then convinced me it was worth finishing. also, a big thank you to [livejournal.com profile] maryangel200, who also convinced me it was worth it. or maybe they're just as perverted as me. ♥
a/n2: I'm not Catholic and I didn't go to school, so I'm probably getting a lot of things wrong, but just suspend your disbelief a little. and I'm sorry, I'M SORRY, I just have a Catholic kink. /o\ I have the Catholic guilt to go with it, too.
a/n3: betaed by me, title and cut-tag from The End by MCR.

silentdescant: (a kiss and i will surrender)
I forgot to post this yesterday, even though I said I was going to! I got distracted by multiple porn tigs, I'm sorry.

For my Production Design class, I had to come up with an "alter ego" who's basically the polar opposite of me. I had trouble doing that, so this person's kind of opposite, but kind of not...? Whatever, though. I can't help that I'm a pretty well-rounded person. I mostly just described the girl I'd like to fuck. Or the girl I'd like to fuck me, that works too. She's unnamed in this; I don't know if she needs a name or not. ~760 word character description.

warnings

Jun. 24th, 2009 03:38 pm
silentdescant: (consigliere)
Somehow I missed the boat on a lot of the discussion going on about warnings on fics, triggers, squicks, etc. I was vaguely aware of the discussion going on, but hadn't seen any of it (besides a few people's reaction posts) until today. I'm not sure what started it (that one BBB fic, all the comments of which are now screened?), but I was linked to posts here, here, here, here, and here. Warning: Very explicit discussion of sexual assault and the nature, anatomy, cause & effect of triggers. Is itself triggery. I've not read everything, not even close, but I think by this point I can at least say something intelligent about my own fic and warning policies.

I've always put warnings on fic that I believed could be construed as offensive, squicky, or (now) triggery. I try to follow the MPAA rating and warning system, adding things as necessary. I think it's common courtesy, and I, personally, don't feel that adding warnings to my headers detracts from or impacts the fic at all. In the cases where such warnings might be considered spoilers for the story, they may be vague, but they are still there. If you ever come across anything you feel should be warned for, please let me know and I will add it in. The very last thing I want to do is hurt anyone with what I write.

Though I haven't done so before now, I will start putting in a warning line even for fics that do not have warnings. (Most of my fics do have warnings, so this is rarely an issue anyway.) Quite frankly, I didn't see the point before. It seemed understood that if there's no warning line, there is nothing in the fic that needs a warning. However, in light of recent events and people refusing to add certain warnings or simply not warning at all, I can see that it's not understood with everyone, and I will add the "warnings: none" line in the future.

I hope that clears up my own policy and my opinions on the matter.

rating: PG-13

warning: dystopic little drabble, original fic, unbeta'd.
summary: There's only one pace.
note: I'd be lying if I said I didn't know where this came from, but I honestly don't know why it hit me so hard. And it's original and not fanfic! *shrug* I guess inspiration is inspiration.

title: A Concert Day
summary: A typical day, getting ready for a concert
rating: PG
a/n: I might eventually f-lock this one. I haven't quite made up my mind yet. It's a bit close to home, really, as I used to be an intern and about 98% of this fic is true.... Oh, and it was for the prompt A Day In The Life.
a/n2: I know I'm spamming, I'm sorry. >.< Just one more after this.

silentdescant: (write)
This is very unfinished, only 4,181 words, and it was written (apparently) in the first 2-3 days of November 2005. I have no memory of the plotline after this, because I stupidly didn't write out an outline at the time. But I was intrigued by this fic as I reread it today and I thought some of you might want to see it. So, here it is. I haven't changed anything but the formating and a couple of misspellings since 2005.

silentdescant: (writing hands)
I've been working a bit on the lovely prompts you've all given me, but then this hit me and I just had to write this first. *g*

This is from my as-yet-untitled-novel universe, and doesn't take place in the novel. Or ever, really, I don't think. But anyway, it's the main one of the main characters and the evil bad guy having a bit of a confrontation. Alexis was originally the main character, but Josh (who's not featured in this ficlet) was actually more of a protagonist, and I liked him more anyway, so he's now the main character, along with Alexis. Hunter is the bad guy, and that's his last name, not his first name, which is Gregory. There is a love story (kinda) between Alexis and Josh, but I absolutely adore the chemistry Alex and Hunter have together, even though anything sexual-like won't ever make it into the main story. So, I wrote this little AU kind of thing. 680 words, rated R for content and language. (and FYI, both of these characters are British)

Here's the character quiz. I cut out a lot of the boring stuff (noted by the strikethroughs) and fixed up the html, because it really sucked when I found this online.

Character Questionnaire
by Nick Malysz

When writing a character it is always helpful to ask yourself questions about him/her. Coming up with answers to those questions helps shape the person you are creating into a more three dimensional being. I combined a list of helpful questions on this page. Sources for much of the information are the following books: Writing the Character-Centered Screenplay by Andrew Horton, The Art of Dramatic Writing by Lajos Egri, and The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock, Ph.D.

the simple, short questions )

the really cool long questions )

There were some other character building exersizes and questionnaires that I found, but this is one of the best ones that I saw. If anyone wants the full version (I didn't cut out that much, but there is more), just leave a comment or something.
silentdescant: (thinking)
This is a character biography I wrote for my Scriptwriting class. It's slightly unfinished (meaning that it didn't continue as far as I wanted it to), but I don't want to change it at the moment. The character is based on my Escaping Blame!Dominic, but as I was writing, it morphed into a different story. I used a really awesome character questionnaire that actually helped a lot, so I'll post that separately.

A young thief, Nick Williams, tries to discover his own identity after hiding it for most of his life. )

next up, the questionnaire!
silentdescant: (woe)
so I ended up not doing Stardom for my assignment. wrote this instead, from my original-fic-verse.

Gregory Hunter is like the ocean... )

piano: forgot my bookbag. love playing my song, but forgot my bag. >.< apparently I have my 8-page song by memory, though, because I played that without too much of a hitch. lol!

lotr was okay; test wasn't horrible, but I didn't know a lot of the names. >.< why do all the elves have to have nearly the SAME names? grr. wrote an essay for it, but it had the general tone of "Frodo shouldn't make the Fellowship's desicions because it will invariably end badly." lol!

biology is the suckiest subject that ever sucked. didn't have anything memorized. had an impromptu POP QUIZ. wtf? first one EVER in this class. and I have a huge long rant about the class as a whole, but it's really not nice, so I'll just shut up. >.<

art was pretty good. we watched two 30 min. videos of some really old lady with a wig and horrible glasses. i'll admit, she can paint. >.< anyway, after that, we drew Sasha, because she didn't want to draw. she apparently didn't want to hold still either, but at least she managed to keep a straight face for most of the time. will scan the sketch later. everyone says it looks just like her, but I think there's something off-kilter about the angle of her eyes versus the angle of her mouth. even so, I'm relatively pleased with the result.

little tiny puppies are too adorable for words. )

OH, and I did say "I was dead at the time," during biology, but Tiff said, "oh, that's from that guy that you talked about." yeeeah. never got a chance to say the moon one. lol! that one would'a been funny too.

now, I'm off to watch the first Harry Potter, where all the actors are sooooo young and inexperienced. *giggles*

oh, and I'm going to a lego tournament tomorrow. first time I haven't been in it, so it should be interesting. maybe I'll get to judge or something....
silentdescant: (Default)
i'm bored. i should be doing schoolwork, but i'm so not motivated... anyway. i just watched the lost recap show. 'twas awesome, but not NEARLY enough Charlie. also, i think it just hit me how absolutely adorable Charlie and Claire are. *giggles* i also watched Studio 60. 'twas also awesome. Matthew Perry is very cool. umm... that's all for now. oh wait, there is something else. i wrote a little scene based on a picture for my media class.

and that, my friends, is the end.   ...of the world. ha.

silentdescant: (fragmented dreams)
I wrote this last night. When I started, I had no idea what it was doing, I just wrote whatever word popped into my head and it turned into a sentence. Then a story. I have no emotional connection to this story; it just came out of nowhere. Hope you like.
