Another Movie Review. What fun.

Passion of the Christ, directed by Mel Gibson, starring Jim Caviezel.

Contains spoilers.

Well, I have to start off by saying I mostly wanted to see this movie just so I would know what all the fuss was about. Also, I didn't expect it to be so... graphic. I'll start there.

Special effects... WOW. Um, yeah, I want to know how they did that. My dad thinks they just got a stunt double and beat the crap out of him. I doubt it. The movie was a lot bloodier than I thought it would be and it showed everything. Mostly, anyway. Enough to get the point across. I didn't get grossed out until they pierced his hands. That was just a little much for me, and that's saying something. I had to look away for a moment. I also couldn't watch the similar scene in the movie Painkiller Jane (which I haven't seen all the way through). Maybe its something about a hole through an appendage.

The music for this movie was really nice. Very emotional. Same with the camera angles. I especially liked the way the movie blended between memory and current. Slow motion wasn't overdone, but it was getting close, in my opinion.

Last thing: Jim Caviezel's eyes. They're so light they almost look yellow. Kind of weird, but looks great on him.

Out of ten stars, Passion of the Christ gets 7. Good movie, yes, but not really my style.
