ok, list of stuff I hafta do tomorrow:

- revise and turn in my facade and juggling vignettes (asdfjlaskjflsjkdf JUGGLING IHU)
- email Kevin omg
- try to extract those stupid fucking dvd files
- read physics and start online hw (which was only posted TONIGHT, WTF. grr, teacher)
- italian hw
- paint
eta: read history. stupid history. >.<

hm, what am I missing?

in other news, I slept until almost noon today, which was quite lovely. but then I ate breakfast and then nothing until dinner, so I completely pigged out on pizza, and now I kinda feel sick and gross. >.<

I think I had a bit of a breakthrough on my painting (hopefully). AH, THAT'S WHAT'S MISSING. *adds to list* anyway. I need to finish that and start a new one, like, really soon. like, tomorrow. hopefully.

oh, I stayed up late last night reading and reviewing vignettes from my fiction classmates, and I just have to say something: after reading all those, I feel like the majority of you guys on my flist are better writers than the guys in my class. ♥ there were a couple of pieces that I really enjoyed, though.

and randomly, I just realized how much I'm gonna miss my best friend here when I go off to college. we get half an hour of girl-talk time on fridays, and last week was really good for some reason (though, omg we are such gossips. LOL). I should have her over sometime soon... when she came over to help clean the house before the holidays, we stayed up SO LATE just talking. and now I'm making myself kinda sad, so I'll stop there.

oh, but omg, the new girl in my art class is SO ANNOYING. (she's not really new, but she's new compared to how long we've been doing art with the same little group). so I was talking to my friend in her bedroom before art, and the girl comes in, and I was trying to tell some story or other, and she totally interrupts me and starts just rambling on about something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. my friend is just looking at me like O___o and I'm looking back at her like O___O!! with my mouth kind of hanging open in shock, and when the girl finally stops talking, there's one of those weird, awkward silences, wherein I say "...SO ANYWAY" and try to pick up where I left off. that wasn't the first time she'd done that, but it was definitely one of the most OBVIOUS and ANNOYING times. she's just, like.. completely lacking in social etiquitte. omg. >.<

sorry to go all 'preteen girl' on you there, but she just bugs the hell out of me. let's see, how many times did I say "like" in that paragraph? wow, only 3? I said it more in my head, believe me. LOL anyway, that's all the inane rambling I'll subject you to tonight. I'm off to bed.

feedback

Okay. Um. I don't quite know where to start with this, which is kind of... odd. Anyway. Um. So, in my fiction class, I just received some incredible, insightful feedback from a classmate. It was, like, he saw something wrong with it, he explained why in perfect detail, and he also said how to fix some of it. Positive criticism seems almost like an oxymoron, but. I dunno, I'm just very happy about what he said, even though it means there's a bunch of holes in the piece I wrote. I'm trying now to construct a reply; I want to clarify things that I said and explain a bit, but without seeming defensive, because I'm totally not. He's right, and I'm right too, but I don't quite know how to say that without seeming like I'm just humoring him or something. gah, why is this so hard?

LOL, it's not the receiving criticism that I have problems with, it's replying to the criticizer. *facepalm*

eta: okay, I've sent a reply. hopefully I was able to adequately convey my gratitude for what he said in his comment. (wtf, am still stuck in "big, fancy word" mode, apparently) lol
silentdescant: (incredibly sexy)
oh crap, it's 1am. today = first day of school. Italian was interesting; there were 2 sections of the 101 class, but now there's only 1 section of the 102 class, so we've merged together. physics was kinda awesome, the instructor seems pretty cool. tomorrow we're doing some kind of experiment with bowling. should be fun. so far in writing, I've introduced myself and gotten several replies about my nano fic. \o/ speaking of, I need to get cracking on that, but not right now. I also have to choose another picture to paint; there's one I like from the second photoshoot we did, but the position's just SLIGHTLY off, and I'm not quite confident that I'd be able to wing it. I also have to take care of those STUPID FUCKING DVDS OMFG *KICKS THINGS*. it's the job that won't. fucking. end. and the worst part is, she's already paid me. also, I have to email Kevin. shit. the FIRST kickoff is like, next Saturday or something. or the one after, I dunno. and also, one of my NY's resolutions is to stick to weight watchers omg. >.< and also, I had lots of stomach pain today, no idea why. *clutches stomach* owie.

anyway, now Raquel's got me dreaming about a new fic, as well as a couple WIPs, and omg sweet dreams tonight. *cackles*

and randomly, Brent Corrigan was awfully adorable when he was young. well, sexy and adorable. LOL

Happy New Year!! There's still an almost an hour left for you east-coasters, and I've still got a long time, like 4 hours. But I've been roped into an evening of board games with my family, which is kind of a tradition, except this year nobody wants to watch any movies! Which is a pity, as I've got The Flying Scotsman and On A Clear Day at the moment... :P Anyway, I'm taking tons and tons of pictures with my camera, I love it so much, and I'm sure there'll be a Christmas/New Year picspam sometime soon. :D

In other news, I finished my most recent painting (finally), but I still have, like, 8 more to go for my portfolio requirement. >.< Also, my textbooks came today; the writing ones are awesome, and the physics looks slightly scary, but still (hopefully) fun. I can't believe school starts on the 2nd. Not fair! Luckily, that makes for a short first week. *giggles*
silentdescant: (to do list)
and so much stuff has happened! first of all, in TV land...

- The Office: Casino Night - OMG JIM. CRYING. LOVE. AWWWWWWW. ♥ SO MUCH.
- The Beatles' Help! movie - CRACKTASTIC. I think the best part was watching them mess around in the snow, LOL.
- the Monk and Psych holiday specials - were nothing really special. >.< but any new Psych is good, because it is adorable. :P

in the mail today came the movies Reign Over Me, which looked really good, so I can't wait to watch it, and THE FLYING SCOTSMAN. YAY!!! I also have Hairspray from the store, and that really has to go back, but I haven't watched it yet...

in school news, I got an A in Studio Production. as if I could've gotten anything else. and a B in math, which means I didn't do fantastically on the final, because before the final, I think my grade was about a B+... and I don't have my grade for Italian yet, but my grade prior to the exam is a 92.8, which is ALMOST an A, I think. I looked up the books I need for next quarter: Italian uses the same book I already have, which is very nice; Physics requires like, 4 different book/workbook/study guide things, booo; and the two books for Writing Fiction look AWESOME. can't wait to get those in my hands. :D

as I said a while ago, cute guy had something else going on and couldn't come to Sweeney Todd, but it's always fun when my dad and I see movies together, so I really wasn't too bummed. the movie was AWESOME. and the blood was very Tim Burton-ish: bright bright red, and therefore not very disgusting. there was a lot of it, though. but there was so much humor in the movie too, it was really cool. and then the costumes were awesome, and the singing was alright, and it was just soooo cool!! I do think the gothy makeup was overdone in a couple of scenes, though. but overall I liked it. I can't wait to see it again when it actually comes out. lol!!

currently, I'm rearranging furniture in the house. amazing how just rearranging a room makes it look so much cleaner. LOL of course, there's actual cleaning being done as well, much to my annoyance. :P my friend is coming over on Sunday night and staying until Monday to help us clean (she's getting paid to clean, btw. I wish I was getting paid. >.<) I think the grandparents are coming on Wednesday, which doesn't leave a whole lot of time... and then my dad's birthday is on Saturday next week, so that's when we're going to have the first big family dinner of the holidays, I think.

other randomness:
- I'm in chapter 4 of The Golden Compass, and so far I realllllly like it. hopefully I'll be able to finish it before I go see the movie.
- omgwtf coyote? there was a coyote in our backyard earlier today!! WTF? for reference, I live in the very densely populated suburbs. O.o
- ever since classes ended, I've been staying up extremely late at night and waking up extremely late in the morning. I dunno why. my body rebels against waking up early now. :P
- FotR last night = ♥. I don't know why I get so fangirly when the movies are on TV, seeing as I have them on extended edition DVD.... :P
- there's a part near the end of The Attack of the Unsinkable Rubber Ducks (which I finished recently and really enjoyed) that I agree with SO MUCH that I was literally saying "YES, EXACTLY!!" out loud as I listened. I don't want to spoil anyone or spark an argument or anything, so I'll just say that the passage pertains to religion and leave it at that.
- tony emailed me a photo of us from the weekend we first met. awww, we're so little! apparently we were 12, but we certaily don't look it from the picture. lol
- I started writing a Dom/Viggo ficlet a few days ago and it has since grown into something much more involved than I was planning. but there will still be porn, don't worry about that. *g*
