fic!

I just posted a fic for the last day of [livejournal.com profile] monaboyd_month. It's only a "part I", but it's coming along pretty well so far, so the next few chapters should be up pretty soon. (Also, as with the other fics I posted for [livejournal.com profile] monaboyd_month, I'll be reposting it here at some point.)

(click the banner to get to the fic)

A few notes, mostly to keep things straight in my head: De Divinatione is an ancient Latin text by Cicero, in which Cicero argues that divination does not work, and diviners are right only by coincidence, while his brother, Quintus, says that divination works and is true and all that. Blah blah blah, I haven't read the actual thing yet, but I plan to. This summary is good, though.

And as to the banner: it was made by Raquel, who can READ MY MIND and know exactly what I want without me explaining much at all, and it was made from a picture I stole (I know, I know, I'm sorry) off this site, which is actually kinda cool.

moonrock

so, it has been decided that Raquel is my moonrock. and after some talk about Dom, Craig, and Eddie, and gay bombs and cage sex, we got to this.

etc, etc.... somehow we got into full-on squee mode, and figured we were highly evolved fangirls with... mutant powers... or something. I don't even know what we were doing by this point. LOL  *here begins the NC-17 part, by the way*

and then, blah blah blah, more rock stuff, and bedtime. ♥
silentdescant: (to do list)
today was much with the wtf-ness.

to and fro )

Anyway. That was my day at school. I recorded a voice post, but then people started talking to me, so I couldn't finish that. eta: but it posted anyway! Here it is. lol Now on to less boring stuff.

1. [livejournal.com profile] bloodrayveness has posted an RPS Fandom poll, which I really want you all to go vote in, because I'm very interested in everyone's answers.

2. Reading [livejournal.com profile] semaphore27's This Is The Way the World Ends (lotrips/the stand crossover) is probably not the best idea late at night. But it's so good. Oh, Dom.

3. I'm having trouble thinking of a good situation for my writing assignment this week, Last Lap: "Last Lap places the character, right in the opening lines, close to the climax of a series of events. So the story begins partway up the face of the cliff and not when your character, Arnold, first got interested in mountain climbing." It's quite an interesting prompt, but all I can think of now is mountain climbing. Any suggestions for a situation? Anyone? Anything?
silentdescant: (superhappy dom)
Raquel just posted transcripts of our post-Dom on the Late Late Show chat. instead of reposting all that, I'll just link you to hers.

GO HERE FOR THE INSANITY

omg we are so insane. ;D

and we're also recruiting members for a future Dom/Craig community, btw. LOL

PS: apparently I hadn't made an insanejournal yet, only a greatestjournal. anyway, now I'm on both of those, both with the name silentdescant, so friend me there if you'd like.
silentdescant: (incredibly sexy)
oh crap, it's 1am. today = first day of school. Italian was interesting; there were 2 sections of the 101 class, but now there's only 1 section of the 102 class, so we've merged together. physics was kinda awesome, the instructor seems pretty cool. tomorrow we're doing some kind of experiment with bowling. should be fun. so far in writing, I've introduced myself and gotten several replies about my nano fic. \o/ speaking of, I need to get cracking on that, but not right now. I also have to choose another picture to paint; there's one I like from the second photoshoot we did, but the position's just SLIGHTLY off, and I'm not quite confident that I'd be able to wing it. I also have to take care of those STUPID FUCKING DVDS OMFG *KICKS THINGS*. it's the job that won't. fucking. end. and the worst part is, she's already paid me. also, I have to email Kevin. shit. the FIRST kickoff is like, next Saturday or something. or the one after, I dunno. and also, one of my NY's resolutions is to stick to weight watchers omg. >.< and also, I had lots of stomach pain today, no idea why. *clutches stomach* owie.

anyway, now Raquel's got me dreaming about a new fic, as well as a couple WIPs, and omg sweet dreams tonight. *cackles*

and randomly, Brent Corrigan was awfully adorable when he was young. well, sexy and adorable. LOL

today:

Bedtime last night - 2:30-ish
Woke up - 6:45
Went to class - 8:30-ish
Went to eat and stuff at the mall - 1:00 to 3:00
Went to class - 3:00
Finished class - 10:00
Finished making DVD and mini-DV copies of my interview - 11:15
Got home - 12:00-ish

notes: I bought a fedora with rainbow pinstripes. 'tis awesome. I later drove home at about 20mph through a 40mph zone because the fucking windows fogged up and I couldn't see a fucking THING, and it was almost as bad as driving in Montana, and luckily there wasn't anybody else around. I feel like I haven't eaten at all today. I did eat, though, at least a bit. >.< UGH.

further notes: Cute Guy is still awesome, of course. I have a picture of him with a fake mustache. *cue me reaching up to fix it OMF*. so is Jeff, omg I'd like, LOVE him if he didn't have a girlfriend or anything. and some other people in that class are such idiots omg.

still further notes: random spam email and comments from brainspouses is ABSOLUTE LOVE. and so are the comments to kiltsandlollies's lotrips post. and so is Incline of Trees. <3

tomorrow:

Wake up, go to class, go to piano/art class, spend the night, come home Saturday (probably around noon). OMG.

silentdescant: (thinking)
my day today was SUCH UTTER CRAP. for no particular reason. i woke up on the wrong side of the bed (figuratively, of course, since i only ever sleep on one side of my bed...) but yeah, math was a bit crap, italian was more crap, time in between classes was pathetically spent moaning about the classes themselves, and the study period after italian? omg french guy need to shut up. and everytime i look at Lake, i think Owen. LOL he's so sweet, though.

but anyway, the good things:

lord of the rings soundtrack. always and forever, i will love it. and i want the score for christmas. *hopes*

Raquel's emails. omg ♥

the incline of trees.

chicken noodle soup.

by the way, Tiffany, here's a few videos of Owen. "Meet Owen" "Owen's top 10 moments" (annoying background music, but oh well) and "Ianto clips from episode 12" (that's the episode where Ianto and Owen were all angry and fighting, lol. Spoilers, obviously. and here's a picspam with mostly Ianto and Jack, but some Owen too.

First off, thank you soooo much to whoever nominated one of my fics at the MOME Awards. !!! I hadn't even thought about awards or anything like that, so again, thank you very much for the nomination. It means quite a lot to me. :)

Well, I'm now back from vacation, but you wouldn't know it by my LJ activities, would you? So, a general sort of update about my trip (not in chronological order, mind you): SCAD was awesome and it's now my top choice of school (except it was hot, but even that wasn't as bad as I was expecting); Drexel was alright, but not exactly... right. *shrug*; spending time with my dad's extended family was fantastic (mom's side of the family was mostly-fun, but annoying and boring at times. >.<); spending time with Tony (and David) was really great fun, especially the fact that I got to be with them on my birthday and we could just hang out and go out to movies and play poker late into the night and stuff.

General update for back home: haven't unpacked yet; being on the east coast did NOT help jetlag-wise as it should have done, which is quite annoying, really, because I was hoping waking up early wouldn't be so hard now; already starting schoolwork, specifically, SAT prep and Geometry and anything else my mom wants to pile on; classes are starting entirely too soon in my opinion, even though I'm starting to look forward to them - I'm just not ready yet!

And finally, a note for today, I've finally finished reading Lord of the Rings. WOO. And then I watched the end of RotK from the scene right before "The Eagles are coming!" on to the end, and then I just had to watch some of the DVD extras. So yeah, I spent about 2 hours doing all that. But now it's all over and I can finally say I've finished the books. I loved how Merry was all heroic and 'take-charge' in The Scouring of the Shire. Very cool.

Anyway, that's all for now. I've had astoundingly little time to mess around on the computer and do some of the things that I said I would, which really sucks, but hopefully that'll change soon, once I get into more of a routine. I'm sloooowly catching up on some of the new fics or new chapters of fics that have been posted, which is fun, but I feel so behind. >.<

Also, Raquel, we had more luck of being online at the same times when I was on vacation than now!! I miss youuuu.
silentdescant: (oh crap)

bah! stupid internet. the network's broken, so my ~5 computer/4 person family is down to one single computer, and we're all kinda annoyed. Jill, i was going to reupload those zip files to sendspace for you, but now i can't get a connection between my computer and the internet at all, so i'm afraid they'll have to wait until after my trip, if you still want me to upload them for you. sorrrrry!!! :( i also meant to reply to comments from a bunch of people, but, while it's not impossible to do on this computer, it's difficult, so that'll also have to wait. grr.

also, it took me for-fucking-ever to make dvds for the theatre people. none of the stupid computers would burn a single working disc for the longest time. while i don't mind filming for these people and i certainly don't mind the money they pay me for doing it, i'm glad i won't have to KEEP doing it once i'm off to college.

i am ALMOST all packed up for the trip; i think i have all the clothes i'm going to take, so now i just need to get together my accessories/books/music/shit like that. and i have to leave enough room to bring back the new harry potter book, because it's getting shipped to one of the places we're staying, lol. i had a minor panic attack today because my mom bought the book with a credit card that was in her stolen purse and therefore cancelled, but she called...somebody and worked it out with the new credit card so they'll still send the book. *sigh* i'm reading/listening to HBP now, but i can't bring the book, so i'll have to transfer all the cds to my ipod. that'll take forever, i'm sure. >.< it's coming down to the wire with packing, but i feel like i'm pretty ahead of the game this time. well, until the last minute, i'm sure, when i'll find a whole suitcase worth of stuff i wanted to bring. LOL

oh and i watched velvet goldmine for the first time. ewan mcgregor/jonathan rhys meyers kissing and... doing other stuff = HOT omg. i still don't quite see the appeal of the whole glam-rock style, but those two were fucking hot.

also, brainspouse, since this computer doesn't have yim or googletalk (grr!), i hope you feel better!!! *LOTSA HUGS* less-than-three omg.

silentdescant: (big love)
*sigh* I've been painting pretty much nonstop for a few days. (well, not non-stop, but it's the only productive thing I've been doing). It's a picture of my grandparents for their 50th anniversary in a couple of weeks, and it has to be framed and shipped by the 17th. *headdesk* I really (really really really) wanna do a painting of Dominic, because I keep seeing pictures that I'd love to do, but this one has to get finished first. >.<

besides that, not much has been happening. oh, I dyed my hair, finally. it's not quite the colour I was going for, but it looks cool, so that'll be fine. it's kind of a deep red now; kind of darker than I wanted, but oh well.

regarding the prompt ficlets: you guys rock with the prompts omg. I've got about five of them started, now, which probably isn't the best approach, but whatever. some are going really well, and others, not quite as well, but I'm making some steady progress. but, raquel i need to talk to you about that interview one and my messenger isn't working!!! so, like, get on googletalk or something. :P i'll see if i can get on another computer later.
