silentdescant: (superhappy dom)
1) The [livejournal.com profile] bandgirlsbang fic I drew art for has been posted! Red Suede Shoes (walking two thousand leagues) by [livejournal.com profile] nev_longbottom. Haha, I like that, first fic posted, no waiting. I was so impatient about posting my bbb. :P Anyway, it's long and I'm sure it's changed a lot since the draft I got (I'll have to make time to reread it now), but what I read was really great, and I thoroughly enjoyed it even though they aren't characters I normally read. I'm pretty happy with how my drawings came out as well. I haven't done an art challenge like that before and it was tons of fun.

2) [livejournal.com profile] tuesdaysgone and I think we need a gang name, uniform, sign, and what else? Oh, colors!! GANG, ROLL CALL. we need a naaaame. somebody more creative than me, come up with it. hahahaha &you guysss; As far as gangs go, we pretty much win.

3) Tony and I sorted some of our shit last night, and I think we're better now. I can stop stressing. :P
silentdescant: (dance)
oh maaaaaaaan. Jeeves is well on the way to becoming normal again. I have Outlook back, with my CALENDAR, and my EMAIL, and my TO DO LIST, and mcr's RSS FEED, and it is AWESOME. I also have Semagic back to post from, because it's so much easier than dealing with LJ. Pandora's still fucked up and I don't have iTunes yet, but I'm working on it.

OKAY SO, the point of this post is basically going to make me sound like an asshat, but... I really want music? :( Basically, I'm just gonna list the stuff I used to have and some stuff I didn't have but wanted, and if you want to contribute to my sadly very lacking music collection, you would be my best friend ever. If I just list an artist, that means I had (literally) ALL of their stuff. I will whore myself out for music, guys, seriously. If you give me ANYTHING, I will be happy. I'm begging. On my knees, and this floor is not the most comfortable. *___* please?

Stuff I didn't have preiviously but would really really love to have now )

And um, if you have any like, absolute favorite songs/albums/bands, feel free to rec them as well. Please please please give me stuff, I have nothing besides Pencey Prep and as much as I love Frankie, that shit gets old. I will be so grateful to you for, like, EVER. ♥

eta: why me and Tony are awesome: we trade REALLY DIRTY SONGS. ahahahahaha
silentdescant: (dom/viggo)
So, I'm writing again. (obviously). The Dom/Viggo fic I started forever ago (which was supposed to be short), is nearing completion. \o/ I still have about a million things in my WIP folder, and more written longhand in my writing notebook, but... I'll get to them eventually. I'm feeling better about writing lately, so it'll happen. (I don't think I had writer's block, really; just... finishing block? LOL I started about a gazillion new fics....)

The problem with three day weekends is that on Sunday, it feels like a normal weekend. So here I am on Monday, scrambling to get things done. Well, not really scrambling but... putting more effort in than usual. I have an Italian presentation on Thursday, which I'm researching now. Oh god. It's going to be crap. And I'm not bringing enough food for the class. Although... focaccia bread is a specialty of Liguria, and it's really good... great, now I'm hungry. Anyway, I'm outlining it and everything in English, which means I still have to translate it. *sigh*

My registration for next quarter is like, next Monday. (AND SPEAKING OF, DOM'S GONNA BE ON CRAIG AGAIN. I THINK. FTW.) Anyway, there's a couple options, most of them in psychology or sociology.

possible courses for next quarter )

Oh, and a side note about robotics: TONY WON FIRST PLACE & CHAIRMAN'S AWARD IN FTC AT THE TENNESSEE REGIONAL. FUCK YES. QUALIFIED FOR NATIONALS. FUCK. YES. *\o/* He called me up, and I said hi, and I didn't even remember that he was at the competition, and he just said "We, uh. We won." LOL WOOOOO!!! IT'S ABOUT FUCKING TIME. He totally deserves it. His team (and mine too, actually; just in FLL and not FTC, 'cause we only did that once) got ROBBED a few years in a row. Stupid judge bastards. ANYWAY.

On top of all that crap, I need to finish my portfolio. Now that I have 10 pics picked out, I need my sis to take super-awesome photos of them, to show detail and everything, and I still need to finish about 2 of them. Also, I was gonna put in a few writing samples. Any suggestions on that? Is there anything I've written that's just, like, completely awesome? I was thinking about maybe the intro to Citadel, before I introduce the characters. But that's all I can think of off the top of my head...

Hmm, okay, I think that's quite enough seriousness for now. *nod nod* Off you go.
silentdescant: (to do list)
and so much stuff has happened! first of all, in TV land...

- The Office: Casino Night - OMG JIM. CRYING. LOVE. AWWWWWWW. ♥ SO MUCH.
- The Beatles' Help! movie - CRACKTASTIC. I think the best part was watching them mess around in the snow, LOL.
- the Monk and Psych holiday specials - were nothing really special. >.< but any new Psych is good, because it is adorable. :P

in the mail today came the movies Reign Over Me, which looked really good, so I can't wait to watch it, and THE FLYING SCOTSMAN. YAY!!! I also have Hairspray from the store, and that really has to go back, but I haven't watched it yet...

in school news, I got an A in Studio Production. as if I could've gotten anything else. and a B in math, which means I didn't do fantastically on the final, because before the final, I think my grade was about a B+... and I don't have my grade for Italian yet, but my grade prior to the exam is a 92.8, which is ALMOST an A, I think. I looked up the books I need for next quarter: Italian uses the same book I already have, which is very nice; Physics requires like, 4 different book/workbook/study guide things, booo; and the two books for Writing Fiction look AWESOME. can't wait to get those in my hands. :D

as I said a while ago, cute guy had something else going on and couldn't come to Sweeney Todd, but it's always fun when my dad and I see movies together, so I really wasn't too bummed. the movie was AWESOME. and the blood was very Tim Burton-ish: bright bright red, and therefore not very disgusting. there was a lot of it, though. but there was so much humor in the movie too, it was really cool. and then the costumes were awesome, and the singing was alright, and it was just soooo cool!! I do think the gothy makeup was overdone in a couple of scenes, though. but overall I liked it. I can't wait to see it again when it actually comes out. lol!!

currently, I'm rearranging furniture in the house. amazing how just rearranging a room makes it look so much cleaner. LOL of course, there's actual cleaning being done as well, much to my annoyance. :P my friend is coming over on Sunday night and staying until Monday to help us clean (she's getting paid to clean, btw. I wish I was getting paid. >.<) I think the grandparents are coming on Wednesday, which doesn't leave a whole lot of time... and then my dad's birthday is on Saturday next week, so that's when we're going to have the first big family dinner of the holidays, I think.

other randomness:
- I'm in chapter 4 of The Golden Compass, and so far I realllllly like it. hopefully I'll be able to finish it before I go see the movie.
- omgwtf coyote? there was a coyote in our backyard earlier today!! WTF? for reference, I live in the very densely populated suburbs. O.o
- ever since classes ended, I've been staying up extremely late at night and waking up extremely late in the morning. I dunno why. my body rebels against waking up early now. :P
- FotR last night = ♥. I don't know why I get so fangirly when the movies are on TV, seeing as I have them on extended edition DVD.... :P
- there's a part near the end of The Attack of the Unsinkable Rubber Ducks (which I finished recently and really enjoyed) that I agree with SO MUCH that I was literally saying "YES, EXACTLY!!" out loud as I listened. I don't want to spoil anyone or spark an argument or anything, so I'll just say that the passage pertains to religion and leave it at that.
- tony emailed me a photo of us from the weekend we first met. awww, we're so little! apparently we were 12, but we certaily don't look it from the picture. lol
- I started writing a Dom/Viggo ficlet a few days ago and it has since grown into something much more involved than I was planning. but there will still be porn, don't worry about that. *g*
silentdescant: (to do list)

fucking college entrance essays. i've about 375 of the required 500 words, and i dunno if it's complete crap or what. gushing about the school and my future goals (of which i'm still unsure) just doesn't sound right. i say that a lot when i'm writing essays. it's not like fiction, where it doesn't really matter what the words say as long as they flow and sound natural and make sense. i get by on writing fiction mostly be feel. essays are a load of really annoying crap that takes actual brain work. at least, my essays are.

in addition, i haven't done my math homework for tomorrow, and i had a take-home test (open book! a week to complete it!) that i haven't started yet and that i have to turn in tomorrow. oh fuckin' hell.

also, there is a really adorable guy in my studio class that i was flirting with like, the entire time. wtf. and i haven't had much of a conversation with tony in a while and that's a bit odd and i kinda miss him. :( of course, i'm sure that'll change once he gets back from wherever he is. *headdesk*

i think i should note that i'm only working on the essay for scad at the moment. drexel needs one too, as does wsu. kill me nowwwwww.

edit: okay, i have 2 more rants. 1) lj, what the fuck is going on with my layout? it's like... not adjusting properly. stupid lj problems. and 2) i've not lost any more weight in a while. i am a carb queen. >.< my mom figures my after-school headaches are from sugar withdrawal. ugh.

silentdescant: (yay!)
eta: waaah, the html on this post sucks.

eta2: ok, I dunno if it's my html or lj being annoying. probably the later. *KICKS*

in no particular order, some update-y things...

  • A- on my first Italian quiz!! the average grade is a C, and apparently some people failed completely. eek.

  • today's math quiz: HARD. omg I completely didn't know how to figure a couple things out. uh oh. hopefully I didn't do too terribly, though. also, my calculator is doing weird things, and even when I asked the teacher about it, he was like "uh.... that IS weird." so I'm gonna head to the math lab in a minute to see if they can figure out what's wrong with it.

  • every now and then, Tony will say something incredibly sweet and it makes my heart melt a bit. :) hopefully he'll have gotten on his flight by now; last I talked to him it had been delayed. >.<

  • there are orange leaves all over the courtyard and parking lots at school. I love fall; it's so pretty. green is my favorite color, but when all the trees turn orange and red, it just looks fantastic.

  • will post the next chapter of runaway tomorrow. \o/

GRRRR.

silentdescant: (fuck it)
OMG I HATE RINGTONES. it took me FOR-FUCKING-EVER to get the damn file onto the phone's memory, and now it won't let me use it as a ringtone! WHAT THE BLEEDING FUCK? GAAAAHHHHH.

i WILL make this work. eventually.

i just have to figure out HOW first. DAMN PHONE. I WANT TO BREAK IT. only that would be bad. so i won't do that, but I WANT TO SOOOOO BAD. DAMN FUCKING STUPID PHONE.

...and now tony's just told me how to download a file that i KNEW should've been simple to get, and it WAS, but i couldn't figure it out. so YAY for that. *downloads more stuff* :D :D :D so at least that's one good thing. lol

eta: hee, i like the 'determined' mood icon.

eta2: grabbing those files was SO FUCKING EASY. why didn't i think of that? i took a whole class on html and computer shit. i should've known that. anyways. YAY FOR EASY. lol

eta3: YAAAAAAY, things are working now. still not with the phone, but i can't deal with that at the moment. tony's just said that there IS an alarm clock on the ipod, which is PERFECT, so i don't even have to do the thing i WAS going to do with the phone, and this is all very good news. also, tiffany's coming over in like, an hour. and i'm not dressed and haven't eaten yet. oops. BUT MY IPOD WORKS! *giggles* AAAANNNNDDDD, i finally have a lot of those beecake videos in the right format so they're on there too! \o/ when did i get to be so electronics-illiterate? i'm not usually this way, i swear. lol
silentdescant: (oh crap)
wahhh, i have nobody to talk to. well, i talked to tony for a few minutes, but he's staffing some kind of party thing and had to go work. so then i tried to call my best friend who i haven't talked to in forever, only to discover that i don't have her cell number, only her home number, which i discovered when her creepy dad's voicemail message kicked in. so then i tried to call our mutual friend to GET her number, and i only have her home number as well, and not only that, but she wasn't home! her sister said she'd take a message, but i have no idea what's going on so i dunno if she'll call me back today. tiffany's on vacation, and besides that, i'm not sure she has her phone back, and all of my other friends are more... casual acquaintances that i don't really want to talk to anyway.

oh, so when i called tony, i told him what our friend asked for our addresses for: a graduation party invite. only, mine got wet so the photo she stuck in it completely washed out and glued itself to the top of the card. LOL the party's this saturday in GEORGIA, so i told tony "yeah, i'll just fly down there like, tomorrow maybe." and he said "i wish you would." or "i wouldn't mind that at all." or something. heh. yeah. O.o

i hate talking on the phone, but whenever i actually WANT to, nobody's available. *sigh* i should stop wasting the day (even though i've only been up since, like, NOON) and do something. maybe write a bit. maybe someone will call me soon.

First off, thank you soooo much to whoever nominated one of my fics at the MOME Awards. !!! I hadn't even thought about awards or anything like that, so again, thank you very much for the nomination. It means quite a lot to me. :)

Well, I'm now back from vacation, but you wouldn't know it by my LJ activities, would you? So, a general sort of update about my trip (not in chronological order, mind you): SCAD was awesome and it's now my top choice of school (except it was hot, but even that wasn't as bad as I was expecting); Drexel was alright, but not exactly... right. *shrug*; spending time with my dad's extended family was fantastic (mom's side of the family was mostly-fun, but annoying and boring at times. >.<); spending time with Tony (and David) was really great fun, especially the fact that I got to be with them on my birthday and we could just hang out and go out to movies and play poker late into the night and stuff.

General update for back home: haven't unpacked yet; being on the east coast did NOT help jetlag-wise as it should have done, which is quite annoying, really, because I was hoping waking up early wouldn't be so hard now; already starting schoolwork, specifically, SAT prep and Geometry and anything else my mom wants to pile on; classes are starting entirely too soon in my opinion, even though I'm starting to look forward to them - I'm just not ready yet!

And finally, a note for today, I've finally finished reading Lord of the Rings. WOO. And then I watched the end of RotK from the scene right before "The Eagles are coming!" on to the end, and then I just had to watch some of the DVD extras. So yeah, I spent about 2 hours doing all that. But now it's all over and I can finally say I've finished the books. I loved how Merry was all heroic and 'take-charge' in The Scouring of the Shire. Very cool.

Anyway, that's all for now. I've had astoundingly little time to mess around on the computer and do some of the things that I said I would, which really sucks, but hopefully that'll change soon, once I get into more of a routine. I'm sloooowly catching up on some of the new fics or new chapters of fics that have been posted, which is fun, but I feel so behind. >.<

Also, Raquel, we had more luck of being online at the same times when I was on vacation than now!! I miss youuuu.

silentdescant: (so exciting omg)
college quarter grades and SAT scores!!! I win. :D except, I'm going to take the SAT again in the fall because I wanna do better. >.< I think I'm also gonna take the ACT then too, which is like the SAT, only not really. LOL anyway, onto the scores...

this quarter's grades )

SAT scores )

oh, so, a random funny story about the SAT: the room I took it in was an English-as-a-second-language classroom, so there were alphabet posters and stuff that you might find in an elementary school. anyway. it's me and about 12 other teenagers, and we have to copy out this statement that says we won't cheat or whatever. except the rule states that it has to be copied out IN CURSIVE. >.< the funny/sad part: barely any of us could WRITE in cursive, and we had to use those stupid posters in order to write the letters correctly. LOL printing is so much better. and typing's even better than that. cursive is just... hard. lol it took us longer than the allotted time to complete the statement. >.< hahahahaha

college search stuff )

also, an interesting and amusing tidbit: Tony's parents (and mine) all went to Georgia Tech, whose mascot is a yellow jacket; SCAD's mascot is a bee; and the place where Tony wants to go, Southern Polytechnic, has a hornet. I find that very amusing. LOL goes to show how easily amused I am...

also! thank you all for the feel-better-wishes and the prompts! am working on those now. and I do feel better. :) ♥
