Mar. 15th, 2008 02:45 pm1) I just finished the book The Other Boleyn Girl, by Phillippa Gregory - I highly recommend it. I loved George right off the bat, and then I found out he's played by Jim Sturgess (Jude from Across the Universe) in the movie, so yeah, that's gonna be awesome. I'm worried about how much the movie will have cut out or altered, though; it's quite an in-depth story, and there's no way all of that's in the film. I don't want to see my favorite parts cut out! I started reading the sequel, The Boleyn Inheritance, this morning. I was really excited about reading the first one because this is the first book in quite a while that I haven't been required to read and that I've really really loved. I mean, I liked reading The Golden Compass and whatever the two sequels were called, but not quite to this extent. (Oh, and speaking of Jim Sturgess, I reallllllly wanna see 21. It looks like my kind of movie. LOL)
2) I signed up for Script Frenzy, which is basically NaNoWriMo for scripts. It takes place in April, and the goal is 100 pages. At the moment, my plan is to adapt The Citadel, but I might do something different, I dunno yet. Oh, when I tried to sign up, it said the name moondom had already been taken, and I was like what? But it also said that my email address was already registered... So I tried to log in using the name moondom and the password I would've used, and apparently I'd already signed up for it. I don't remember doing that AT ALL. LOL
3) I started cutting the cardboard pieces for my lap-desk for art class. (Oh, did I ever even mention that on here? We're building furniture out of cardboard, wire, and paper mache.) Anyway, I cut my finger. :( It didn't hurt too badly or anything, but now I have a band-aid on it and it's hard to write (and type, actually). And of course it comes right at the time when I need to do a lot of freehand writing. Once I start putting the pieces together, I'll post pictures of my progress.
4) I'm so excited for
monaboyd_month to start. I don't have anything finished yet, but... It'll be fun. Yay fandom! :D
5) Less than a week 'till school's out. (for 11 days. >.<)

another numbered post
Oct. 1st, 2007 06:54 pmwow, it feels like I haven't posted in forever, even though it wasn't that long ago.
1. Tiffany gave me a very pretty silver and peridot bracelet for my birthday. :)
2. There's a guy called Jens in my studio production class that is awesome and funny. We chatted for a while when we both had to be on-camera, pretending to interview each other, and then later, he directed while I was tech director, and we kinda clicked and did really well (better than pretty much all of the other pairs), which was totally awesome. There's also a deaf girl in the class, and she has two interpreters with her, a guy and a girl. The guy's hands remind me vividly of Dominic's, and he wears a couple rings too. :P It made me wonder if Dom's ever tried sign language. I imagine he'd be good at it, what with all his gesturing and constant movement when he talks.
3. Over half the people in that class have first names starting with J. LOL
4. My room is now about 90% clean. There's still a load of crap on all available flat surfaces, but the floor is clear and I took out a lot of old books to make room for new ones. It just needs to be vacuumed and nit-picked, now. It's so much nicer this way. Although, I must admit, the other night when I was lying in bed, I couldn't get to sleep because the curtain thing on my bed wasn't hanging the same way it was before. How OCD is that? >.< I ended up getting out of bed anyway for something else so I fixed it before I went back. LOL
5. The library booksale was a success! (even though I didn't find any of the specific things I was looking for, but I wasn't really expecting to, so that's okay.) I took home about 10+ books, including one book of poetry and Macbeth. Or maybe I put Macbeth back... I don't remember. Anyway, I've already finished one of the other books, called The Assistants, and OMG IT WAS AWESOME. If you're at all connected to or interested in Hollywood or show business, you should read it. On the back cover, it said "laugh out loud funny" and I don't tend to believe that kind of thing, but it was so true. Also, Griffin is the most awesome character ever, and I love that name. :P
6. Classes have been going well, or just going. I had a math quiz today, but it was pretty easy and I'm almost positive I aced it. (There was only one page of questions, though). Also, the math teacher has a really cute ass. What? I sit on the front row, and he's always turned around writing on the whiteboard. I can't help but notice. *giggles*
7. I'm taking the SAT (again!!) next weekend. Apparently. I did not know this before two days ago. If I bring up my score by like.. 60 points or something, I'll qualify for another 5k in scholarships (I think). PRESSURE, ANYONE? dammit.
8. I'm suddenly nervous about a lot of things. Posting a fic tomorrow, my looming Italian quiz, the SAT on Saturday, finishing my SCAD essay, and finding a focus for my portfolio. fuck. And I also hate it (well, okay, I don't hate it, because I love most of what I write) that my best writing is fanfic and I can't show it to anyone outside of fandom. How am I supposed to prove that I actually can write if I never write anything for academic eyes?
