so the final for this class was easy as cake, as my Escaping Blame!Billy says. all that's left of this class is a critique of everyone's project (my group's is pretty good, even though I would've edited it differently. but whatever. s'what teamwork's about, yeah?).

Script class is already over; it ended yesterday. which is good and bad, because I did love that class. the final for that was just pitching the script to the entire class. which was not easy as cake. I thought it would be, and I had everything that I was going to say firmly in my mind, then when I stepped out in front of the ENTIRE CLASS, I flubbed it. not too badly, luckily, and better than some, but still. >.< should be getting an A out of that class, though, and hopefully an A out of this one. \o/

and speaking of Escaping Blame (wot? I mentioned it up there!), I finished writing the pre/sequel. and I like it. I love it, in fact. but see, the thing is, the pre/sequel can't be posted until after the main story, and I'm not going to post the main story until both it and RunAway are finished. but I'm working on writing again, and it's going alright. and in celebration, I give you a quote from Escaping Blame. *g*

Naturally, these curtains were fireproof, but it was Dom’s philosophy that, with enough alcohol poured on, nothing was fireproof.

I love this fic. more than RunAway, unfortunately. I just love it. I love writing it, and even reading through it, I still love it. I can't wait to post it!
silentdescant: (fangirl)
okay, where to start?

first, if you haven't been paying attention over at [livejournal.com profile] beizy's journal, DO, because there's a lot of fangirling going on and it's just awesome.

second, fic. I just posted some Monaboyd PWP, so that was nice. I really can't wait to see fics from the ORC girls though, because they were actually there. I've spent like, nearly the whole day bouncing around in my chair and capslock-chatting with [livejournal.com profile] bloodrayveness, which was a ton of fun. and that's when I wrote the fic. lol

As to RunAway, I haven't worked on it in a few days, and the next chapter's about half-finished. But this week is finals week for me, and then spring break after that, so I can use that time to get all caught up. Hopefully I'll have this chapter finished (no real reason why I shouldn't) by Tuesday.

I feel kinda like I'm descending back into my lurker ways, because I haven't been posting or commenting, really, but I have been reading everything. actually, I just kinda suck at commenting all around. sorry. just haven't felt like talking to much of anyone lately.

some film shoot info, some Lost fangirling, and some random schoolish stuff )

here's one thing, though; for recs: del.icio.us/silentdescant it's not got a lot on there yet, but I'm working on going through my favorites folders.

also - yay for everybody! sounds like a few people are getting to see friends, a few people have gone away to ORC (jealous, omg!), and a few more people are just happy.
silentdescant: (dead at the time)
My second class was cancelled today, and I feel like I can actually relax for the first time since like, last Tuesday or something. So I'm going to kinda summarize some things that happened, and post some stuff that I really should've posted a long time ago. (seriously, this is an insanely long post. like, really really really long. longer than many of my fics kind of long. >.<)

The weekend Career Exploration class... )

Now, for some other class-related things... )

No real segue into this next bit. First, I'll explain what happened today, then I'll lay out my problem.

Spring Quarter registration... )

Side note: while waiting for my ride home, I had time to read a bit more of The Stand, which I'm enjoying thus far.

So, my problem. )

A couple of fic-related things:

How did I not know about this story before? So very guh. Exposure - [livejournal.com profile] kiltsandlollies

annnd, [livejournal.com profile] legomyarrow updated The Flag again! \o/ I haven't read it yet, though.

About my own fic; I can't believe how common being late on the chapters is becoming for me. I'm sorrrrry! I really am working on it, really. In between running around for classes and not getting enough sleep, I actually do write a bit!

*sigh* That's it for now. (You're all thinking "about bloody time!" right? Sorry.) When I'm not as exhausted, I'm going to post some geeky battery voltage graphs that [livejournal.com profile] bloodrayveness wanted to see.

Oh wait, one more thing. I just came across Sean Astin's short film, The Long and Short of it, on Youtube today! I was really glad, because I hadn't had the chance to see it before. *g* I think it's really well done. Especially since I now have a newfound appreciation for silent, five minute long movies. lol

taking a break from editing. my eyes are starting to go buggy. >.< and picked the wrong fucking music. i wanted something like... hard and fast and instead i got something with a slow(ish) beat. shoulda brought more of a selection. the really bad part though, is that it's due at the end of class tonight. >.<

overall, though, i think it's turning out alright. music's just a bitch.

bored.

this class is so boring right now that it's actually getting on my nerves.

*so tired* i'm about to fall asleep at my desk, srsly.

i want the screensaver that this mac has. it's sooo preeettttyyyyy. *stares* actually, everything about macs is pretty, but i do so like my pc.

First off, my professor is indeed dead. :( Apparently he had a chronic heart condition, and he turned out to be older than I first thought. So now a new instructor is taking over that class, but I'm not sure what's happening with the future classes I was planning to take from him. I'm currently debating going to the memorial thing on Thursday.... I only knew him for about five weeks, while most of the other people in the class had taken classes from him before. Also, I don't think I'd do well at something like that. >.< When I first heard about it, I half expected him to just jump out and say "just kidding!" because that's the type of guy he was. :(

In the class, though, things are moving on as scheduled (though we might push our project deadline back a bit, which will be nice). The people in my group are cool and very nice (except for one, who's probably too nice and very very extremely annoying), and I'm co-writing and co-directing with the same guy (who's actually kind of cute *g*).

Also, in my other class, the script one, the prof (a long-time friend of the other prof) decided not to have a mid-term for two reasons. !) it was incredibly stupid. 2) his best friend just died and he didn't want to deal with it. aww. but yay, no exam! He also blew up at super-annoying-dude, which was nice to see, and then he apologised afterward and (amazingly) super-annoying-dude did as well.

Dunno what exactly I'll be doing in class tonight, but I can expect it will be boring. >.<
silentdescant: (oh crap)
Life Grade quiz )

While I'm on the subject of love, apparently I'm going to Atlanta sometime in the near future. Which is both good and bad.

the good and the bad )

I am pathetic )

I have a 30-60 second commercial to shoot; I wrote most of the script tonight in class. hopefully I can get it done quickly and my friends will cooperate and not act like total loons like they usually do. I also have a scene due tomorrow, but I only have the opening scene written, so I guess I'll just turn that in.

ALSO, I've started a prequel to Escaping Blame, but it'll have to be posted AFTER the full story. I love writing this; it's so different from RunAway. Which isn't to say I don't love writing RunAway (well, sometimes), but they're just so different: RunAway started as a one-shot, and I had no idea where it was headed when I began writing new chapters, but Escaping Blame is thought out, planned out in a pretty good amount of detail, and incredibly interesting to me. So hopefully I will finish writing the actual story soon so I can start posting. *crosses fingers*

getting electrocuted in biology )

ETA: so the thing I was going to post about in the first place, I completely forgot. just like me, right? >.< )

class

in class now. this prof is losing credibility with me; i seem to know more than she does about cameras and video.... >.>
silentdescant: (oh crap)
I was going to post RunAway while I'm waiting for class to start (i.e. now), but when I opened the file, I thought, "hey, this looks short... I thought it was longer than that." Turns out I forgot to SAVE the file before transferring it onto my flash drive. So I have about half of the chapter with me right now..... *facepalm* I'll post it when I get home tonight, I promise!!

Well, at least I'm free now to work on my Treatment and Outline for script that's due TOMORROW.

eta: classroom is locked. and it's about half an hour until class. guess I'll stay out here a bit longer then....

I'm kinda stuck with my treatment. I want Nick to discover stuff about himself, but I dunno how to make that happen. kind of an important element I'm missing, huh? I should've just turned Escaping Blame into a script. except that would be really big-budget, and I want to have a chance to make this into a movie next quarter, so... >.< I'll post what I have so far... any help is VERY WELCOME. *g*

class time!

in class now. feels weird being on the internet while in class. we are on break, though, so I'm not breaking any rules or anything... anymore. >.<

ahahahahahahahaha, I just scared the daylights out of Tiffany in the computer lab. snuck up on her to say hi. Tiff, you jumped out of your skin. 'twas hilarious.

I shall now eat my snack then do some filming of boring old hallways. ta!
silentdescant: (thinking)
script is realllly good. I have to write a character biography by next week and mine is pretty much already done (or at least sketched out).

cinema is okay, but the prof really loves what he teaches and that does make a hell of a difference. major improvement from last quarter. *hint hint, evil!prof...*

video is... in thirty minutes, but it should be a lot of fun. brought my camera today 'cause I think we're gonna shoot some stuff and practice editing. which will be fun, if a little easy. or really easy. >.<

um.. biology doesn't merit much beside a rant, which I won't burden you with right now. *kicks... anything* stupid fucking bloody projects.

lotr - still behind. i gotta read and answer questions for like, five chapters or something to get caught up.

other everyday stuff: the people who left their car at my house for a few weeks finally came back last night and left this morning. annoying kids. I had to kinda babysit them, even though their mom was right there.

what else can I be completely random about? uh, yesterday I bruised the back of my hand when my backpack snagged my wristcuff. hurt like fuck, but at least it's not a big bruise or anything. just a little red splotch that kinda hurts when I touch it. *pokes* someone tell me to stop touching it. >.<

also, my headphones are broken. sound only comes out of one side now. well, I wanted to buy new ones anyway, so at least now I have a ligitimate reason....

gonna be a piece of cake. like, totally. as long as the group I get assigned to for the final project doesn't screw everything up. I work better alone. >.<

also, I found my cuff! t'was in my bag the whole time. yayness.

dude, I wrote porn during class. O.o and the guy next to me kept looking over at me. >.>

one last thing. my lotr calendar is up, and this month is Elijah/Frodo month!!! teh pretty with teh big eyes will watch me while I sleep....... :D
