silentdescant: (oh crap)
so, on thanksgiving i was going to do a post of great yay which included birthday wishes for my lovely brainspouse, semi-gushing reviews of 2 fantastic movies, and other such happy things. but no, i forgot, and now it's several days later, and a ton of utter crap just came up. well, not just, but i'm just now realizing it.

bad things 1 through 6... )

and now for some good news... watched episode 12 of torchwood today. captain jack harkness. pretty much the whole time i was like IANTOOOO. and OMG JAAAACK. and other such squealing noises. OMG IANTO/OWEN FIGHT FTW. owen's so mean though, wtf. poor ianto. the boss' (adorablesexyawesome) bit on the side. heee

does this count as a good thing? i've been reading porn like, nonstop all weekend. O.o some good, some not so good, and some where the authors didn't quite know how to form sentences.... yeah, that wasn't fun. but the rest was.

i drew a picture of a crawler from the citadel, and i was going to post it, but i haven't yet. i did scan it in, though. but then i sent the scan to tony's brother, who's in animation, and he said he'll see what he can do with it. so if he gets back to me with a 3D picture of it, i will post them both together.

i wanted to post so many things, but i just haven't. >.< things i will get around to posting sometime soon: review of August Rush (OMGADORABLE, I LOVED), review of Brokeback Mountain (which i FINALLY saw and OMG LOVED. OH MY GOD.), writing technique questions for all of you writers, a meme or 2, and.. OH right, a picspam! duh. ok. so, eventually, alright? okay. i'd better get to my math homework before i turn into a zombie.

also, ps: i still have Apologize on repeat omg. it's the ONLY song i've listened to while writing the citadel. and wtf, the movie Armageddon still kinda makes me cry. :(

oh, pps: did i tell you i've registered for next quarter's classes now? physics, italian II, writing fiction, and that's it so far. should i do a human development course on humour or do something with my robotics/interview guy to fill in the extra credits?
silentdescant: (thinking)
School stuff first (though god knows these won't actually be completed first...)
  • essay for that weekend class

  • book report for that weekend class

  • poem for LotR Lit

  • story for LotR Lit

and now the fun stuff.

list of WIPs, fics I haven't started yet, and things I'm going to abandon )

First priority is RunAway, and then Escaping Blame and Winding Road, because I like them the best.
silentdescant: (dead at the time)
My second class was cancelled today, and I feel like I can actually relax for the first time since like, last Tuesday or something. So I'm going to kinda summarize some things that happened, and post some stuff that I really should've posted a long time ago. (seriously, this is an insanely long post. like, really really really long. longer than many of my fics kind of long. >.<)

The weekend Career Exploration class... )

Now, for some other class-related things... )

No real segue into this next bit. First, I'll explain what happened today, then I'll lay out my problem.

Spring Quarter registration... )

Side note: while waiting for my ride home, I had time to read a bit more of The Stand, which I'm enjoying thus far.

So, my problem. )

A couple of fic-related things:

How did I not know about this story before? So very guh. Exposure - [livejournal.com profile] kiltsandlollies

annnd, [livejournal.com profile] legomyarrow updated The Flag again! \o/ I haven't read it yet, though.

About my own fic; I can't believe how common being late on the chapters is becoming for me. I'm sorrrrry! I really am working on it, really. In between running around for classes and not getting enough sleep, I actually do write a bit!

*sigh* That's it for now. (You're all thinking "about bloody time!" right? Sorry.) When I'm not as exhausted, I'm going to post some geeky battery voltage graphs that [livejournal.com profile] bloodrayveness wanted to see.

Oh wait, one more thing. I just came across Sean Astin's short film, The Long and Short of it, on Youtube today! I was really glad, because I hadn't had the chance to see it before. *g* I think it's really well done. Especially since I now have a newfound appreciation for silent, five minute long movies. lol

day two...

silentdescant: (shhh!)
*flops ...again*

loooong day again. but I only got really tired once, during a little boring video that we watched about the Strong Interest test. I got my Meyers-Briggs results back; I'm a cross between ISTJ (mostly) and INTJ (a little bit). a lot happened, but I'm too tired right now to go into details.

so then the play, seen (and filmed) for the second time. well, I will say that the actors were better this time, but still not the greatest. and none of them could do a good NY accent. >.<

speaking of NY, Pratt U sounds like a perfect match for me, with their writing major and film production courses too. only problem is they're pretty selective and expensive. also, NY isn't nice to homeschoolers: I have te do GED and SAT2 subject tests and SAT and AP and all kinds of stuff. >.< UCLA requires (I think) THREE SAT2 subject tests, though.

ps: I started reading The Stand during a break in class today. I didn't get very far, but I can already tell that I like it. *g*

*flops*

what a long day. I'm about to fall asleep, really.

1) regularly scheduled co-op, and a biology test that I think I did reasonably well on. last week's test was horrible, though. also, I'm FINALLY caught up in LotR. *\o/* just finished TTT, and now we're doing a unit study on Fantasy and Poetry before picking up again with RotK. oh, I should post my little Gollum story...

2) first day of the weekend Career Counceling class. tons of fun, but loooong. there was one girl sitting next to me and we were talking about... something. I don't even remember. anyway, somehow the subject got around to her nephew, who's like, five or something. anyway, she said he goes around and paints people's nails and does their hair and picks out their clothes, and she said that the whole family is just waiting to see if he's gay or just metrosexual. LOL! also, she reads fanfiction, which is a plus! I don't know if she reads slash or not, but with her attitude about her nephew, I bet she does. annnnd, there was this other girl who wants to be a politician, and she's really cute and really easy to talk to, so we chatted for a while in our little group. tomorrow we're going to actually analyze our Meyers-Briggs test results and research careers. but through the stuff we did today, apparently writing is like, my biggest passion ever. lol! another one of my passions is Dom. seriously. the instructor had this little list of criteria, and as I was thinking about it, I realized that I: spend a lot of time doing Dom-related activities (reading fanfic and articles, writing, drawing, looking at pics, watching lotr/lost), I get inspired by him, I get motivated by him (like you wouldn't believe), and... some other stuff on the list that I can't remember now. well, there's certainly worse things to be passionate about. *g*

side note: I didn't post RunAway yesterday (well now it's past midnight for me, so the day before yesterday, Thursday), because the chapter's only half-finished. but I'm working on it, I really am!

tomorrow/today: second day of weekend class - allll day long. then, after that's finished, I go straight to the theatre to re-shoot the play, because the actors all flubbed their lines last week.

also: Regional Vex Tournament in GA! root for... oh hell, I don't know the team name/number. root for Tony's team! LOL *wishes them good luck*

weekend class was postponed till next weekend. \o/

I'm sooo behind on replying to comments, so I'm going to do that now, as well as catch up on my writing. >.<
