I wrote a bit more on my original fic, Written Truth, and I got to 4390 words. omg am so behind!! >.<

but then I was looking through a few picture folders and I saw one that just inspired me, so, in the past... I dunno, 4 hours, I've written 4110 words on something completely new, called either The Citadel or The Grid, I'm not sure yet. it's a sci-fi Monaboyd AU, and I'm still kinda in shock over the fact that I'm writing sci-fi. srsly! but it's coming along great and I really love it so far, so I'm thinking maybe I should switch this one to my NaNo fic, or maybe try to write them side-by-side. I dunno if I'll get to 50k on either of them if I do that, though, especially this late in the game...

also, I am rapidly becoming obsessed with Apologize by Timbaland. I've been listening to it nonstop since I started writing this evening.

also also, tomorrow I will try to post that picspam I promised. :D

should I post excerpts of both fics? I'll try to do that tomorrow too.
silentdescant: (to do list)
to do list:

make mp3 of script
practice script with mp3
finish studio test
study for italian test tomorrow (kinda sorta)
copy/complete italian workbook (almost but not quite finished)
do math homework
write intro and outro script for studio (or just wing it)
write cover letters for college applications (omg this isn't done yet?!)
write nano fic omfg. i am so unbelievably behind.
go shopping for something i have to send somewhere
send something somewhere once i buy it

news:

i just got a pair of $90 leather boots and ~$25 leather gloves. omg the gloves are so awesome. it's like, the softest, most supple leather i've ever felt. i love. *pets them* but anyways, OMG that's way more than i'd usually spend on either of those things. bad me. >.< i shouldn't have, but fall fashion is my clothing downfall. spring/summer fashion, on the other hand... no thanks. LOL

i passed my driver's test today. YAY. it was pretty easy, actually. he said i didn't look over my shoulder on one of my turns, but there was NOBODY on the road and i DID look in my mirror wtf.

and speaking of driving: i drove in seattle for the first time tonight. i'd been avoiding it forever because i was kinda scared of driving in the city, but it certainly did help that i did it when there was practically nobody on the road. but still, i did it! and in high-heel boots, too! *g*

pictures for that meme are coming... soon. i promise. i still have to take pics (less-blurry pics, anyway) of a couple things and my painting. speaking of, i need to work on my new painting...

all my posts lately are "omg school is killing me" kind of things. for shame. except runaway. and speaking of, i dunno when i'll have time to post the epilogue tomorrow. maybe i should just stay up late and post it after midnight. LOL i want it to be on thursday, otherwise i'd do it now. i'm just weird that way. PLUS OMG, i just realized this: tomorrow is nov. 8th. what are the odds that the last chapter of runaway would be posted on the 8th?!* that's so awesome. hahahaha now it DEFINITELY has to be posted tomorrow.

*8 is my favorite number and has been popping up in odd places lately. i just love that number. don't really know why. lol

ugh

silentdescant: (to do list)
i dunno how i'm going to survive today. i want sooo badly to just fall asleep and STAY asleep.

am up to 2,804 in nano, 'cause i stayed up last night to write a bit. i'll post an excerpt whenever i have time; i wanted to do one today, but that's probably not gonna happen.

there's a guy in the class that kinda freaks me out a bit. seems nice and everything, but he's just weird. i kinda hope we don't get put in the same groups today but then again, the girl in my group was nice, so... i dunno. i can't really think at the moment. my brain is on a constant loop of "must SLEEP, must SLEEP"

although i did manage to fill in a few words from yesterday's crossword and complete the issac asimov superquiz (the subject was math).

anyway. i hafta get ready to leave. and pack lunch and stuff. omg so tired.
silentdescant: (yay!)
I got my most recent SAT scores back today: writing was a bit lower, but I expected that. math was EXACTLY THE SAME as last time (640, if I remember correctly), and the reading? up by 80 points. *\o/* YAAAAAY. Hopefully this means I qualify for the highest scholarship at SCAD. :D :D :D I'm very excited. I need to send in my application packet today with my updated scores, homeschool transcript, and personal statement. Hopefully I'll know whether I'm accepted by Christmas or New Years. YAY.

I got 46/50 on my studio quiz last Thursday. And ok, y'know that movie premiere the guy at class invited me to? There's an article about it in the newspaper. Jeff is the guy I know. Didn't I tell you he was good-looking? ;D This is so awesome. And I didn't know he was homeschooled!! I'll have to ask him for tickets tonight. I'm very excited about that also.

Tomorrow night's the Halloween Dance, which I went to last year, but besides a mild desire to go, I'd totally forgotten about it. And anyway, the premiere is the next night, and it's probably better not to do two things in a row. Besides the fact that I haven't even thought about costumes... I dunno what I'm going to do for Halloween...

I'll be posting RunAway in a few minutes and OMG I LOVE THIS NEXT CHAPTER. It ends with a bit of a cliffhanger, though. SORRY.

And one more thing: the Across the Universe soundtrack is so awesome and I've been listening to it non-stop since yesterday. omg this song makes me laugh. "They're great, they're just... chillled out!"
silentdescant: (yay!)
there are so many things that have contributed to my insane gleefulness today. here's a few:

The Incline of Trees (formerly lotruniversity) is being updated with edited, complete posts on Tuesdays and Thursdays. *cue MASSIVE FLAILING and possible SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION*

It's confirmed: Eric Bana and Karl Urban are going to be in Star Trek together! (link via [livejournal.com profile] legomyarrow) For those The Archer/The Flag fans on my flist, MAJOR YAY.

[livejournal.com profile] push_pull_push has been updated, and OH MY GOD, if you're not reading that fic yet, YOU SHOULD BE. It is seriously hot, both this chapter and the story on the whole.

Brokeback Mountain came in the mail today, so I can FINALLY WATCH IT. (soon, anyway)

I've written a History Boys ficlet, a CSI ficlet, and a bdsm-y Monaboyd ficlet, and they all just have to be edited before I post them. \o/ Also, I posted RunAway today, which is always a source of great yay.

I think my SCAD essay is nearing completion. I sure as hell hope it is, anyway.
silentdescant: (yay!)
eta: waaah, the html on this post sucks.

eta2: ok, I dunno if it's my html or lj being annoying. probably the later. *KICKS*

in no particular order, some update-y things...

  • A- on my first Italian quiz!! the average grade is a C, and apparently some people failed completely. eek.

  • today's math quiz: HARD. omg I completely didn't know how to figure a couple things out. uh oh. hopefully I didn't do too terribly, though. also, my calculator is doing weird things, and even when I asked the teacher about it, he was like "uh.... that IS weird." so I'm gonna head to the math lab in a minute to see if they can figure out what's wrong with it.

  • every now and then, Tony will say something incredibly sweet and it makes my heart melt a bit. :) hopefully he'll have gotten on his flight by now; last I talked to him it had been delayed. >.<

  • there are orange leaves all over the courtyard and parking lots at school. I love fall; it's so pretty. green is my favorite color, but when all the trees turn orange and red, it just looks fantastic.

  • will post the next chapter of runaway tomorrow. \o/

silentdescant: (write)
1. Today, on the way to school, I was nattering on about something (my mom was driving), and suddenly I said "GOLLUM!" The car in front of us had the license plate "GOLLUM" and the thing that goes around the license plate (I dunno what it's called) had the end of the ring poem, "one ring to bring them all / and in the darkness bind them." hahaha, my mom said "Oh look, there's another LotR fan." :P

2. I dislike the subject of slavery. I don't hate it, at least not as much anymore, but I really don't like it. I mean, of course I don't like slavery, but I don't even like the topic of it, intellectually. Religion, on the other hand, I have some interest in. I'm not very religious myself, but I find the subject very intriguing. So, what do I do? I start writing a fic about slavery. *headdesk* I do have one in progress about religion too, though. lol

3. Math class. Precalculus. Trigonometry. So far, it's not been anything too difficult, and the instructor is nice and young and he explains things pretty well (even though I still had to ask my dad for help understanding my homework). I'm worried that it's going to get hard really fast, though. >.< I hate five-day-a-week classes.

4. Italian. The teacher (professeressa) loves my last name (which is Italian). She talks in Italian a lot, though. More than I expected for the first week of classes. And she doesn't explain everything she's saying, which is a bit stressful. So far, I've memorized the Italian alphabet, though, which is good, and my almost-two years of Latin are definitely helping.

5. Apparently I never posted about this! My mom kind of found out about my slashy online activities. I played it down, though, (okay, I lied) and admitted to very tame versions of what I actual read/write. Obviously I couldn't deny anything as she'd seen something, but apparently it wasn't anything too porny, so while it wasn't a good thing that she found out, at least I know that it could've been very much worse. And at least this way she knows something so I don't have to be quite as paranoid. LOL

6. The Incline of Trees (aka: lotruni) has been updated!!!!!!! omgomgomg GO AND READ. *incoherent flailing*

7. Next week, I think, I will begin posting something that I half want to keep as a surprise and half want to shout out to everyone. I'm very excited about it. :D

8. Dom. Just Dom. ♥
silentdescant: (big love)
the only thing i'm missing from my list is sunscreen, which i don't think is up to me to pack anyway, so GO ME. haha, i actually managed to make a to-do list and COMPLETE it. O.o

leaving at 5:15am means getting up at 4:30, which is NOT GONNA BE FUN. especially as it's already 11pm now.

so, flist, for the next three weeks, comments and emails and such will be hit-or-miss with me, and even though i desperately want to read your posts every day, that probably won't be likely. :( not that i comment much to anyone anyway... SORRY. >.<

when i get back, hopefully my network will be up and running, because i have at least two or three fics already finished that i need to post. i'm gonna try to keep writing in my notebook during vacation, so hopefully i'll have even more of your prompt ficlets to post by the time i get back.

omg i'm gonna miss you all. *hugs* hopefully i'll not be completely offline for the entire three weeks. talk to ya soon. expect voice posts and maybe picspams if i can manage it! :D

blahhhh

silentdescant: (Default)

gah. i finally rolled out of bed at 10 and my dad immediately calls up "are you dressed? we're leaving in half an hour!"

crap.

anyway. i'm going to see my first SIFF movie of the season. don't even know which one i'll be seeing yet, though. >.<

also, in regards to that fic yesterday, i was up until about 1am writing the sequel, but because it was 1am, it kinda sucks at the moment, so i'll be fixing that up and posting sometime soon. :D

more later. have a nice weekend everybody!

silentdescant: (writing hands)
so. I'm not as far ahead as I thought I was. but I still have a bit more written than I have posted, so that's good. for me anyway, if not for you. lol!

posted: up through Liar
written: up through Play, which is the chapter after Liar

so, as you can see, not very far ahead. >.< the reason I thought I'd written more was because Play is a bit longer than normal. I figured it would have to be, after not posting for so long, lol.

BUT WAIT, I could be wrong about this. because.... I think I did write more, just on my jump drive at school! because I distinctly remember writing part of Dom's chapter, and I don't see it in the document... hmmm.... I'll have to check on that. but I also wrote a bit that's nearer to the end, so maybe that's also what I'm thinking of. except I think I'm going to end up cutting out that whole mini-story arc because it's unnecessary and it'll just drag the whole thing out for (probably) too long. so after this test tomorrow, I'm going to finally devote some time to writing - more than just a few minutes here and there, anyway. because I want this fic to be DONE and POSTED so I can move on to other fics. and I know you all want it done too. :)

official stats of the entire fic put together:

98 pages (in a Word doc)
approx 37,300 words (including chapter titles and scene breaks)
working on 50th chapter of (approx) 60 total
silentdescant: (fuck it)
was about to reply to comments, but then realized i had to work on my essay some more. >.< so, will reply in person later, but for now, thank you for the "get well soon" type comments, they really cheered me up. ♥ :)

this is my predicament: i chose lotr to write an essay about. the assignment is to back up my opinion with facts and evidence. my opinion is pretty much that lotr is the best film(s) ever. so i wrote an essay and sent it to my mom for critique. and she says that i don't state my opinion at all, and that it's all straight facts, and that the essay has no personality or passion, and that if the class were a journalism class instead of a personal essay class, i'd get an A because i'm so succient and objective. >.< so that is one part of my problem. the other part is this: how do i write about lotr without getting TOO gushy and fangirlish about it? and without saying words like "fantastic", "stunning", and "awe-inspiring", etc. too much?

random note: today in the paper, there was a blurb about Lost's end date, which (of course) made me think of Dominic. right next to it was a blurb about PJ directing some movie that he and Fran and Phillipa wrote the screenplay for, which (of course) also made me think of Dom. there's no point to this little anecdote other than the fact that i found it amusing that they were right next to each other. lol i am easily amused.

a more completely random note: those Soup At Hand microwavable thingies are yummy and portable, and i want to take one to school with me the next time i'm on campus but not in class.

there are so many things i keep meaning to post about, but then i don't, because i just want to make this quick, but then i never get back to it and then it's so long afterward that i think "is it even worth it to post" and then i end up not posting, so then i have either no posts at all or a whole bunch of these meaningless type ones. and omg that was all one sentence. sorry. >.< i didn't mean to make this post so long, but it's just coming out that way. >.<

test updates: SAT2 went well, i think. it felt like i did okay. afterwards was a bruch which was good but also kinda too much, and then a meeting with the director and DoP, which was supposed to happen at a Starbucks but didn't at the last minute, and i was kinda counting on a drink to keep me from coughing the entire time, but anyway, the meeting went well. it's kinda weird though, the DoP kept like, looking at me, and it seemed like he was like... trying to reassure himself that i was laughing at his jokes? or something? dunno. that's what it seemed like, though. and he did it again tonight. or maybe he's just a weird, kinda creepy guy. >.<

and now, back to rewriting my essay. "again, with feeling."
silentdescant: (oh crap)
I was gathering up my artwork today to put it in my portfolio and take pictures of it to post, and I can't find my Frodo painting anywhere. :( It wouldn't have gotten thrown out or anything, so I'm not too worried, but I just can't find it. The only picture I have is one that I took with my cell phone which isn't that good. >.<

On my biology CD, there's sometimes little movies of a lady with a cadaver or a plastic model pointing out organs and stuff. Well, one of the videos with the cadaver was very strange, to put it mildly. some kinda gross details ) But the really weird part is this: she pointed to something and said (and I'm paraphrasing here), "Most people say it's about twelve fingers long, but I only have ten, so just imagine two more." O__o Does that sound REALLY weird to anyone else, or is it just me? LOL

Anyway, I should get back to work. I have a psych quiz today/tomorrow, a first draft of a paper due tomorrow, a resume and an interview on Tuesday, and then more biology stuff on Wednesday. >.< I think it's somewhere around 4-5 weeks until the AP test. Somebody kill me now. And oh yes, I have a LotR book test on Friday too.

Oh, also, I'm thinking about redoing some of my icons, because on this color-corrected monitor, they look like crap. They looked good on my old monitor, honest! lol
silentdescant: (cheers)
[profile] brainspouse has been updated with my crack!art of good-angel!Raquel and bad-angel!Jen, LOL!

and then Raquel made icons! *giggles*

feel free to friend that comm for updates on weird stuff like that. :D

but only one. lol

domianlove

credit if you use. comments are nice but not required.

and now, to post my long-overdue Dom/Ian fic that was written like... a month ago or something.

ohohoh, before I forget. I watched the first two episodes of Planet Earth and OMG it was awesome. Raquel, there were polar bears!! *giggles* it was very cool. and now we're on the pre-order list for the DVDs. lol
silentdescant: (thinking)
so my final is today. it's just a little 20 question multiple choice thing. the instructor even admitted that he would make it pretty easy because he just needs SOMETHING to grade us on besides our projects. this is the instructor that took over when the other guy died, so the whole class has been kind of floundering. >.< so anyway, I pretty much have my study guide memorized. should be easy.

one of the things I have to turn in is a "journal entry" of the film shoot, so I'll post that once I go through and change people's names and stuff for privacy. I also have to turn in a peer evaluation, which was hard, because I'm generally a nice person, and I didn't reallly like giving people low-ish marks, but then, I think this needs honesty, right?

in other news, I went to bed at midnight last night, only to wake up (well, I was already awake, so I just got out of bed) at 1am to spend about 2 hours writing a fic. it's nearing completion now. and it's insanely fucked up. I feel incredibly sorry for my Dommie. why do I love to hurt him so? :(

keeping with the fic-related news - I have a Dom/Ian thing to post, this new one to finish up and post, a Dom/Bean fic for [livejournal.com profile] angiepen over at [livejournal.com profile] the_challenger that's only half-written, so I have to finish that up and post it too, and of course, RunAway, which I worked on a little bit yesterday.

that's all for now. ta ta!
silentdescant: (thinking)
And speaking of RunAway: for those of you on my f-list that read the fic, or just lurkers or whatever, I have a poll for you.

The info:

In my outline, I have it written out that two major events have to happen in this next chapter. So far, I've written only one of these events, which equals about half the chapter. Now, I can either post this as it is and leave this other event for a second chapter (meaning: you get the chapter very soon, but only half of it according to my plan), OR, I can keep working on this chapter until it's finished to my outline's standards (meaning: more waiting. sorry. >.<).

Another thing to consider: if I post this half-chapter now, I will probably not write a mostly-unnecessary chapter at the end. 1) because it honestly doesn't further the story much at all, 2) because I have no idea how to approach it, and 3) because it would probably put me over 60 chapters, and yes, I really am that neruotic. Even numbers are the best, people.

[Poll #947772]

please please please give me your opinions and input. seriously. also, feel free to ask any questions and for clarification or whatever. or just comment. because I love comments like I love all of you. ♥
silentdescant: (dance)
so the final for this class was easy as cake, as my Escaping Blame!Billy says. all that's left of this class is a critique of everyone's project (my group's is pretty good, even though I would've edited it differently. but whatever. s'what teamwork's about, yeah?).

Script class is already over; it ended yesterday. which is good and bad, because I did love that class. the final for that was just pitching the script to the entire class. which was not easy as cake. I thought it would be, and I had everything that I was going to say firmly in my mind, then when I stepped out in front of the ENTIRE CLASS, I flubbed it. not too badly, luckily, and better than some, but still. >.< should be getting an A out of that class, though, and hopefully an A out of this one. \o/

and speaking of Escaping Blame (wot? I mentioned it up there!), I finished writing the pre/sequel. and I like it. I love it, in fact. but see, the thing is, the pre/sequel can't be posted until after the main story, and I'm not going to post the main story until both it and RunAway are finished. but I'm working on writing again, and it's going alright. and in celebration, I give you a quote from Escaping Blame. *g*

Naturally, these curtains were fireproof, but it was Dom’s philosophy that, with enough alcohol poured on, nothing was fireproof.

I love this fic. more than RunAway, unfortunately. I just love it. I love writing it, and even reading through it, I still love it. I can't wait to post it!
silentdescant: (dead at the time)
My second class was cancelled today, and I feel like I can actually relax for the first time since like, last Tuesday or something. So I'm going to kinda summarize some things that happened, and post some stuff that I really should've posted a long time ago. (seriously, this is an insanely long post. like, really really really long. longer than many of my fics kind of long. >.<)

The weekend Career Exploration class... )

Now, for some other class-related things... )

No real segue into this next bit. First, I'll explain what happened today, then I'll lay out my problem.

Spring Quarter registration... )

Side note: while waiting for my ride home, I had time to read a bit more of The Stand, which I'm enjoying thus far.

So, my problem. )

A couple of fic-related things:

How did I not know about this story before? So very guh. Exposure - [livejournal.com profile] kiltsandlollies

annnd, [livejournal.com profile] legomyarrow updated The Flag again! \o/ I haven't read it yet, though.

About my own fic; I can't believe how common being late on the chapters is becoming for me. I'm sorrrrry! I really am working on it, really. In between running around for classes and not getting enough sleep, I actually do write a bit!

*sigh* That's it for now. (You're all thinking "about bloody time!" right? Sorry.) When I'm not as exhausted, I'm going to post some geeky battery voltage graphs that [livejournal.com profile] bloodrayveness wanted to see.

Oh wait, one more thing. I just came across Sean Astin's short film, The Long and Short of it, on Youtube today! I was really glad, because I hadn't had the chance to see it before. *g* I think it's really well done. Especially since I now have a newfound appreciation for silent, five minute long movies. lol

*flops*

Feb. 23rd, 2007 11:55 pm
silentdescant: (dead at the time)
what a long day. I'm about to fall asleep, really.

1) regularly scheduled co-op, and a biology test that I think I did reasonably well on. last week's test was horrible, though. also, I'm FINALLY caught up in LotR. *\o/* just finished TTT, and now we're doing a unit study on Fantasy and Poetry before picking up again with RotK. oh, I should post my little Gollum story...

2) first day of the weekend Career Counceling class. tons of fun, but loooong. there was one girl sitting next to me and we were talking about... something. I don't even remember. anyway, somehow the subject got around to her nephew, who's like, five or something. anyway, she said he goes around and paints people's nails and does their hair and picks out their clothes, and she said that the whole family is just waiting to see if he's gay or just metrosexual. LOL! also, she reads fanfiction, which is a plus! I don't know if she reads slash or not, but with her attitude about her nephew, I bet she does. annnnd, there was this other girl who wants to be a politician, and she's really cute and really easy to talk to, so we chatted for a while in our little group. tomorrow we're going to actually analyze our Meyers-Briggs test results and research careers. but through the stuff we did today, apparently writing is like, my biggest passion ever. lol! another one of my passions is Dom. seriously. the instructor had this little list of criteria, and as I was thinking about it, I realized that I: spend a lot of time doing Dom-related activities (reading fanfic and articles, writing, drawing, looking at pics, watching lotr/lost), I get inspired by him, I get motivated by him (like you wouldn't believe), and... some other stuff on the list that I can't remember now. well, there's certainly worse things to be passionate about. *g*

side note: I didn't post RunAway yesterday (well now it's past midnight for me, so the day before yesterday, Thursday), because the chapter's only half-finished. but I'm working on it, I really am!

tomorrow/today: second day of weekend class - allll day long. then, after that's finished, I go straight to the theatre to re-shoot the play, because the actors all flubbed their lines last week.

also: Regional Vex Tournament in GA! root for... oh hell, I don't know the team name/number. root for Tony's team! LOL *wishes them good luck*

at school

Feb. 20th, 2007 03:32 pm
silentdescant: (happy)
so here I am. bored. well, mostly bored. we pretty much finished our film shoot about an hour ago (our actor had to leave before we could really finish). also, let me just say that not all cafeteria food is evil. the sandwich I had was actually pretty good!

so now I'm going to finish up this chapter and post it. and then go back to being bored. *g*
