in other news, I made it to the halfway point in NaNo! past it, actually; I'm now at 26,100 27,306. *\o/* I think I actually have enough material to go another 25k, which is good, because I'd been having doubts about that.

also, Torchwood made me cry and The Office made me all emotional, and I think I'm going to go watch House in a few minutes. wtf, Torchwood, you're not supposed to make me CRY. so angsty omg. and The Office; Jim = ♥.

oh, omg, I realized today that there's a guy in my Italian class (he's in my project group too, actually) that looks just like Owen from Torchwood. I kept thinking he looked familiar and then when I watched an episode today, I was like HA!

I not only made my goal of 20k last night, but I made it all the way to to 21k at the last minute! I would've written more (and I did, in fact, just by hand so I don't have a wordcount yet), but by sister is temporarily sleeping in here and she wanted me to go to bed. lol

For some strange reason, I woke up to find that I had been sleeping with a book of poetry. This is very odd, because I wasn't reading it last night and I'm not quite sure how it migrated from my nightstand to my bed. It wasn't very comfy... O.o

It seems like a waste to go in to school this week, since Thursday and Friday are off. Why bother for the rest of the week? Though of course I will go, because I haven't missed a day yet, except that first one that I couldn't help.

I did end up staying up until about 1:45am last night, though, because I spent all my time writing and hadn't done my homework, which is due in a couple of hours. It wasn't too bad, but I didn't quite finish a few of the problems.... >.< There's also a math quiz today, but I'm hoping with all my power to hope that it's going to be easy. In this section, about half of the concepts are really simple, and the other half is just like, bzuh? *sigh* I guess I'll see how it goes.

Also, my dreams last night were kind of strange, because I dreamed about a combination of Citadel characters (mainly Dom, Billy, Elijah, and Viggo) and math symbols. So I kept trying to put the guys into equations, and for part of it, they all had little 2s over their heads, and I was like "you can't take a square-root of a person!" I was so confused. ROFL

do math homework
write intro and outro script for studio (or just wing it)
write cover letters for college applications (omg this isn't done yet?!)
write nano fic omfg. i am so unbelievably behind.
go shopping for something i have to send somewhere
send something somewhere once i buy it

news:

i just got a pair of $90 leather boots and ~$25 leather gloves. omg the gloves are so awesome. it's like, the softest, most supple leather i've ever felt. i love. *pets them* but anyways, OMG that's way more than i'd usually spend on either of those things. bad me. >.< i shouldn't have, but fall fashion is my clothing downfall. spring/summer fashion, on the other hand... no thanks. LOL

i passed my driver's test today. YAY. it was pretty easy, actually. he said i didn't look over my shoulder on one of my turns, but there was NOBODY on the road and i DID look in my mirror wtf.

and speaking of driving: i drove in seattle for the first time tonight. i'd been avoiding it forever because i was kinda scared of driving in the city, but it certainly did help that i did it when there was practically nobody on the road. but still, i did it! and in high-heel boots, too! *g*

pictures for that meme are coming... soon. i promise. i still have to take pics (less-blurry pics, anyway) of a couple things and my painting. speaking of, i need to work on my new painting...

all my posts lately are "omg school is killing me" kind of things. for shame. except runaway. and speaking of, i dunno when i'll have time to post the epilogue tomorrow. maybe i should just stay up late and post it after midnight. LOL i want it to be on thursday, otherwise i'd do it now. i'm just weird that way. PLUS OMG, i just realized this: tomorrow is nov. 8th. what are the odds that the last chapter of runaway would be posted on the 8th?!* that's so awesome. hahahaha now it DEFINITELY has to be posted tomorrow.

*8 is my favorite number and has been popping up in odd places lately. i just love that number. don't really know why. lol

I did... nothing. I didn't even dress up, and I didn't give out candy. (yay! LOL) I watched Poltergeist, which still kinda freaks me out in a couple of scenes, even though the effects are SO BAD. When the guy peels off his face? Yeah, that's freaky. Even though it's so OBVIOUSLY fake.

I thought about staying up 'til midnight to start NaNo, but I'm so tired and I have a looooong day tomorrow (and Friday and Saturday and Sunday), so I'll just start writing between classes tomorrow.

Oh, also! I got 18/20 on my last math quiz, which is a good thing. :D and I dunno if I mentioned before, but my last Italian quiz came back with a 94, which is an A, which is MUCH better than the C I got on the pop quiz. >.<

Ok, so. Happy Halloween. Don't gorge on candy and make yourselves sick. Good luck, fellow NaNo-ers!! G'night!

I hate it when my computer randomly shuts down internet explorer, thereby closing all of the tabs I had open. *KICKS OMG* Semi-luckily for me, I almost anticipated this, and I have a relatively good memory for crap like that. Except I keep thinking there was something else that I had open that I can't remember.... >.<

Also, I just realized I never posted this: Augustana's album All The Stars And Boulevards, as a .zip file of .mp3s.

Jeff's premiere is tonight. I guess I'm going to wear my green Chinese dress, which is pretty much the only dress I have at the moment. I have a black one, actually, but it doesn't have sleeves and it's kinda low cut and it's FREEZING here, so I'm thinkin' no. There was a lot of frost this morning. Very very cold. >.<

Speaking of, I had to wait outside the DoL before it opened to get my driver's license. Only, I'd taken the written test before and passed, so apparently I didn't need to take it again, I just had to schedule my actual drive test. So, next Wednesday at 2:50, I have to go back and do that and remember to brush my hair and stuff because I finally get a new picture on my license and I want it to look better than the one I have now, which is absolute crap. LOL

Also, I made an autumn/Dom wallpaper, but I didn't really like it, so I made a different Dom wallpaper, with text from a poem called Moonlight by Giridhar Mohanarangan.

So now it's 4pm and I have to go eat and get ready to go.

bzomg

it's after midnight. i stayed up looking at bdsm sites with raquel. and now am really inspired for a fic. i don't wanna wake up tomorrow morning. can i sleep for... a week? that sounds good to me.

also, we are not too bright: we both tried to do the reverse prayer pose. now our shoulders hurt. i don't think it's physically possible. :P

am going to bed now.

crap. just remembered i have an italian test tomorrow.

notes for the fic so i don't forget...

there's a windstorm coming tonight. the weather's been getting steadily worse all day. just now there was a quick power flicker. hopefully we don't lose power here (at school). that would be bad. also, i think i picked the absolute slowest computer in the computer lab. i have to refresh pages about 3 times before it'll actually show the page and it took several MINUTES to open up internet explorer. >.<

i'm very happy about the no-classes thing tomorrow. yay for sleeping in, if only for an hour or so.

things i still hafta do today before class:
do tiffany's TFC stuff
edit a fic link Knickers to index
write a conclusion for my scad essay
do some math homework
study for my test tonight
eat lunch omg

i'm sure there was something else i wanted to say, but i can't think. and omg the trees are like, freaking out outside the window. and yes, trees can freak out. LOL ok, that's actually kind of a long to-do list. better get to it.

ok, so.

studio production quiz is finished. finally. i had to google the color temp of tungsten/halogen lights because the book DID NOT SAY. i swear it didn't. not even in the index! and i'd forgotten what it was from last quarter, because i used to know. lol! it's around 3200K. which, actually, is what i was going to guess, but it's better to be sure.

also... okay, that's about all i've gotten done so far. i have an hour until class, so i should probably do some math or something. i'm pretty bored, actually.

oh, right, one more thing. i saw the evil producer bitch from last quarter. it may have been my imagination, but it looked like she gave me the evil eye when she walked by. >.<

oh yeah, i remembered the other thing i was gonna say. in my math class, there's a gorgeous guy that sits at the table next to me, along with another guy next to him. well, today they were making gay jokes and being completely adorable and slashy and it was very amusing. :D
silentdescant: (yay!)
eta: waaah, the html on this post sucks.

eta2: ok, I dunno if it's my html or lj being annoying. probably the later. *KICKS*

in no particular order, some update-y things...

  • A- on my first Italian quiz!! the average grade is a C, and apparently some people failed completely. eek.

  • today's math quiz: HARD. omg I completely didn't know how to figure a couple things out. uh oh. hopefully I didn't do too terribly, though. also, my calculator is doing weird things, and even when I asked the teacher about it, he was like "uh.... that IS weird." so I'm gonna head to the math lab in a minute to see if they can figure out what's wrong with it.

  • every now and then, Tony will say something incredibly sweet and it makes my heart melt a bit. :) hopefully he'll have gotten on his flight by now; last I talked to him it had been delayed. >.<

  • there are orange leaves all over the courtyard and parking lots at school. I love fall; it's so pretty. green is my favorite color, but when all the trees turn orange and red, it just looks fantastic.

  • will post the next chapter of runaway tomorrow. \o/

lots of rambling under here )

***

I watched Pushing Daisies tonight, except I missed the first few minutes. It's beautifully shot, and I love the colors. It looks like a movie. And actually, I think it would probably work better as a movie than a show because I don't know how they're going to continue it and keep it fresh. Also, my sis and I recognized Jim Dale narrating right away because of all the Harry Potter audiobooks. :D That came as a surprise. Oh, and is this a half-hour show filling an hour timeslot? Because that was a hell of a lot of commercials. O.o

And I watched the newest House episode. spoilers )

To the classical music lovers - does anyone have Valse in A by Frederic Chopin and would be willing to upload? I've googled it but only found things I have to pay for, and I don't like paying for things. lol I'm about to start playing this song in piano.

And finally, I reviewed some SAT stuff today. I'm gonna fail. >.< ONLY TWO MORE DAYS. *headdesk*
silentdescant: (to do list)
wow, it feels like I haven't posted in forever, even though it wasn't that long ago.

1. Tiffany gave me a very pretty silver and peridot bracelet for my birthday. :)

2. There's a guy called Jens in my studio production class that is awesome and funny. We chatted for a while when we both had to be on-camera, pretending to interview each other, and then later, he directed while I was tech director, and we kinda clicked and did really well (better than pretty much all of the other pairs), which was totally awesome. There's also a deaf girl in the class, and she has two interpreters with her, a guy and a girl. The guy's hands remind me vividly of Dominic's, and he wears a couple rings too. :P It made me wonder if Dom's ever tried sign language. I imagine he'd be good at it, what with all his gesturing and constant movement when he talks.

3. Over half the people in that class have first names starting with J. LOL

4. My room is now about 90% clean. There's still a load of crap on all available flat surfaces, but the floor is clear and I took out a lot of old books to make room for new ones. It just needs to be vacuumed and nit-picked, now. It's so much nicer this way. Although, I must admit, the other night when I was lying in bed, I couldn't get to sleep because the curtain thing on my bed wasn't hanging the same way it was before. How OCD is that? >.< I ended up getting out of bed anyway for something else so I fixed it before I went back. LOL

5. The library booksale was a success! (even though I didn't find any of the specific things I was looking for, but I wasn't really expecting to, so that's okay.) I took home about 10+ books, including one book of poetry and Macbeth. Or maybe I put Macbeth back... I don't remember. Anyway, I've already finished one of the other books, called The Assistants, and OMG IT WAS AWESOME. If you're at all connected to or interested in Hollywood or show business, you should read it. On the back cover, it said "laugh out loud funny" and I don't tend to believe that kind of thing, but it was so true. Also, Griffin is the most awesome character ever, and I love that name. :P

6. Classes have been going well, or just going. I had a math quiz today, but it was pretty easy and I'm almost positive I aced it. (There was only one page of questions, though). Also, the math teacher has a really cute ass. What? I sit on the front row, and he's always turned around writing on the whiteboard. I can't help but notice. *giggles*

7. I'm taking the SAT (again!!) next weekend. Apparently. I did not know this before two days ago. If I bring up my score by like.. 60 points or something, I'll qualify for another 5k in scholarships (I think). PRESSURE, ANYONE? dammit.

8. I'm suddenly nervous about a lot of things. Posting a fic tomorrow, my looming Italian quiz, the SAT on Saturday, finishing my SCAD essay, and finding a focus for my portfolio. fuck. And I also hate it (well, okay, I don't hate it, because I love most of what I write) that my best writing is fanfic and I can't show it to anyone outside of fandom. How am I supposed to prove that I actually can write if I never write anything for academic eyes?
silentdescant: (write)
1. Today, on the way to school, I was nattering on about something (my mom was driving), and suddenly I said "GOLLUM!" The car in front of us had the license plate "GOLLUM" and the thing that goes around the license plate (I dunno what it's called) had the end of the ring poem, "one ring to bring them all / and in the darkness bind them." hahaha, my mom said "Oh look, there's another LotR fan." :P

2. I dislike the subject of slavery. I don't hate it, at least not as much anymore, but I really don't like it. I mean, of course I don't like slavery, but I don't even like the topic of it, intellectually. Religion, on the other hand, I have some interest in. I'm not very religious myself, but I find the subject very intriguing. So, what do I do? I start writing a fic about slavery. *headdesk* I do have one in progress about religion too, though. lol

3. Math class. Precalculus. Trigonometry. So far, it's not been anything too difficult, and the instructor is nice and young and he explains things pretty well (even though I still had to ask my dad for help understanding my homework). I'm worried that it's going to get hard really fast, though. >.< I hate five-day-a-week classes.

4. Italian. The teacher (professeressa) loves my last name (which is Italian). She talks in Italian a lot, though. More than I expected for the first week of classes. And she doesn't explain everything she's saying, which is a bit stressful. So far, I've memorized the Italian alphabet, though, which is good, and my almost-two years of Latin are definitely helping.

5. Apparently I never posted about this! My mom kind of found out about my slashy online activities. I played it down, though, (okay, I lied) and admitted to very tame versions of what I actual read/write. Obviously I couldn't deny anything as she'd seen something, but apparently it wasn't anything too porny, so while it wasn't a good thing that she found out, at least I know that it could've been very much worse. And at least this way she knows something so I don't have to be quite as paranoid. LOL

6. The Incline of Trees (aka: lotruni) has been updated!!!!!!! omgomgomg GO AND READ. *incoherent flailing*

7. Next week, I think, I will begin posting something that I half want to keep as a surprise and half want to shout out to everyone. I'm very excited about it. :D

8. Dom. Just Dom. ♥

waaah.

sometime between yesterday afternoon and about midnight last night, I caught my dad's cold. now am sniffling and freezing and starving but not hungry, if that makes any sense. I do not want to be hereeeee. Dazzle's had one run so far, she did alright. now she's sleeping, looking very cute, while a bunch of other dogs randomly start barking around the crating area. >.<

can you 'join' the mile-high club if you have sex in the mountains? because technically you'd be a mile above sea-level.... just not a mile above the ground.

I had about three other random, disconnected things to say, but now I've forgotten them.

oh, I'm about 5 chapters into The Picture of Dorian Gray, and the way he's described, it makes me think of Orlando Bloom. hahaha

I have 1 hr and 38 min left in my internet access session. but it's free for 2 hours, and you can start over as many times as you like, I think. so... I guess I have pretty much unlimited time. but I'm a bit bored. I don't like being siiiick. *headdesk*
silentdescant: (dance)
I watched the first episode of Torchwood. I blame you. all of you.

dammit. I've already set The Office to record on TBS and my dad wants to watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I don't need another tv show to get into. gaaah.

I draw the line at BSG, though. I'm determined not to go that far. LOL

eta: also, I randomly love spying on people from the 2nd floor when they come into the foyer of my house. O.o *mission impossible theme song*

eta2: OMG SEE? SEE? i blame [livejournal.com profile] green_queen also.

in other news, I'm going to a football game today. Me, going to a football game. *sigh* the things I do for college applications... I know next to nothing about football. Oh well, it should be... interesting.

i think i'm going to try to write a bit on some of my older WIPs today. hopefully. *sigh* i hate that lately i've had some great ideas for NEW fics and have been completely ignoring all the ones i've already started. i might very soon have more WIPs than completed fics. >.<

One question.
One honest answer.
That's all you get.

You get to ask me one question.

i know what the lost numbers mean. it's a collection of COMPLETELY RANDOM numbers. SO RANDOM, that you see them absolutely everywhere, all the time. aaannnndddd, yeah, that's it. LOL

and i assume by now that everyone's seen the new Dom photoshoot? what do you guys think of the new tattoo?

and finally, i think i'm going to delete my facebook account because i never got into it and i don't like using it and i don't like the idea of people being able to find me through my rl friends and stuff.

oh wait, no finally. because yesterday i reread some of my old favorite fics and they put me in a better mood, so i'll just pass on the links here, even though you'll probably already have read them. and omg this post is getting longer by the second. sorry.

silentdescant: (dance)
I just found the little adapter card reader thingy so I can download all the pics I've taken with my cellphone! so, here's most of the pics. I only deleted the REALLY weird ones or the ones that just turned out black. so there's a lot of random and crappy pictures in here. LOL

enjoy )

aaaaand that's it. was that random enough for ya? :D

eta: ok, that's not it. here's a couple random ones from vacation. these are higher-res.

vacation pics! )

ok, now i'm finished.

i just got out of bed to come and do something on the computer, only i've completely forgotten what it was. it's kinda scary how often this happens to me...

in other random news; movies i've watched recently:

happy feet - meh. it was alright, and i love lij's voice, but i thought it was kinda silly. i did like the incorporation of live action with the animation though. very nice.
transformers - another meh. the effects were pretty awesome, but it was too 'kiddie' for my taste. i dunno why i think that, but i do. i just couldn't get over the fact that it's a children's movie.
the history boys - heeeee. love. i put it on my blockbuster list but then i actually downloaded it and watched it on my computer first. very much with the love omg. though the ending was a bit sad. :( thank you sooo much for recommending it, [livejournal.com profile] rainbowcobweb.

oh, and i watched lost episode 'greatest hits' again. *sniffles* the season finale is still downloading.
